Since I am working and have a little $ showing up in my bank, I bought myself a new wristlet purse. When I showed it to hubby, he said, "Boy, I have good taste." Yes he does! After all, he married me! That was the day before the haircut!
Did you have to ship any gifts? Do you think they will get there in time? Both my families came to visit the second week of December and we celebrated birthdays, including Jesus! No shipping for us.
I hope you get everything you want this year. Maybe a new teddy bear. And I pray that the wonderful message of Christmas is in our hearts.
The one true gift is all we need. Jesus was born to die for all of our sins.
It's a cool and cozy Sunday and we are watching football and relaxing. I have finished my wrapping and baking and now I'm just enjoying the calm before the storm. LOL Hope you've been having a great weekend. Just 6 days to go. Nancy, I am so glad you have lots of help. If I lived close, you'd have to TRY to get rid of me. I wish I was there. Alas, I'm able to just send my love and hugs and prayers.

The old light that has been up over 16 years had to come down.
The new LED light went up and it comes on at dusk and goes off at dawn (like the old one used to do).
And it might be twice as bright as the old one. Ok, we didn't know the difference in lumens between the mercury bulb and the LED bulb until after it was up. Hope the neighbors don't complain.
Time for Christmas nails and a haircut. Ok, it is a little too short; but hey, it will grow out again.

I hope this finds you having a great Thursday! We ran errands and did our grocery pick up this morning. Darn it, I HAD TO buy a plant at Lowe's while Dave was off buying lumber, Nancy. You know me and plants. It was a sweet little Norfolk Island Pine in a red sleigh! I couldn't help myself.And, fyi, Lowe's had only about a handful of Christmas stuff left. I was hoping to find a good sale but, alas, I need no more Christmas lights or bows.

Yesterday, my son and his family came to celebrate Birthdays... Hubby, mine, his and Jesus. What a beautiful day and time for all of us to be together. What a Blessing.
As they were getting ready to leave, the girls sang a new song they were learning, to us while they made their parents wait in the car. What beautiful voices they have, especially together in harmony.
I am going to have a VERY busy week and I will be back before Christmas, but my wish for you is Blessings upon Blessings this Christmas and all of next year. Prayers for you every day!

I am off today and it is almost mid afternoon! No wonder I am hungry. Where did the day go already? By the time lunch is over, it will be time for bed. OK, I might have fallen asleep very early last night.
My adopted granddaughter, who was married in our yard over 10 years ago, moved to Mitchell, South Dakota. They are there for a year and are trying to adapt to snow and COLD weather. She said they got 7" overnight and she has never seen that much snow at one time.
We are 78°, feels like 81°. It is very humid and probably a record yesterday and today. But then we set a record last January at -2° also. Personally I like our temperatures right now. Tomorrow will be a different story.
Can you say roller coaster? No matter the weather, I can't wait to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Two weeks from today is Christmas Eve!! The next two weeks will be full for everyone. I will be baking, wrapping and sneaking in some actual housework along the way. Tomorrow I will not be visiting The Hill as we are going up to Greensboro to visit Dave's mom in the nursing home. And we will also meet friends of ours for lunch up there. Hope you are having a fabulous day and that you'll have a safe, fun weekend. How are you, my sweet sister? I hope you aren't doing too much and can just let others do for you. Hoping tomorrow's visit with Dave's mom goes well. Meaning that I hope she still recognizes us. Conversation is so difficult b/c she is blissfully unaware of current events or hot topics of discussion. She is sort of an empty vessel and it's sad.
