nice cool morning with nice breeze..will be sunny later..got out and watered early and gave fertilizer to tomatoes and eggplants..doing that every 2 weeks now.

The butternut squash seeds are just starting to sprout and still trying to decide where to plant them.


Brother sil and niece came to decorate graves yday and i had them cut out tree sprouts from

back yard,,brother let THEM do most of the work as he has bad back..was grateful for their help!


Going to order seed off Amazon as news says may be a shortage next year,,also more 2.4.2 liquid fertilzer as that is supposed to be a shortage as well.

cloudy rain all morning....sun coming and going now

Judy got some sale items yday at store for both of us and
bringing them this afternoon and will vac and take out trash
foe me.
Havent heard from brother and sil as to when theyre coming to
decorate graves.,,,will try to talk him into cutting down some tree
sprouts in my main flower bed.

News predicting record breaking temps for this summer...not good for
gardens...farmers and gardeners are at the mercy of nature and weather..
my tomatoes didnt do well last year due to the oppressive heat...they say temps
of 85F and above stress out the plants and they go into survival mode..bought
a 40% shade cloth to cover them with this year but havent got the poles to
attach it to yet..they say should have 3-4 ft clearance  over them for air flow which 
makes it a pretty tall pole needed for plants that vine up 6 ft or more. Walmart
poles tallest I found last yr were only 8 ft and wouldnt work so did without any
shade cover. Ideal spot is morning sun and afternoon shade which I dont have.  I 
have just the opposite...sigh.

Am surprized how many birds like red grapes,,,the Orioles,  Cardinals and Robins
and saw a Woodpecker get 1 yday too.  So far he sparrows seem disinterested lol

Just in from watering a bit..fed outside cats and birds

Nabor Tom out working in yard and his granddaughter keeps
screaming PawPaw at him constantly.  i have no patience for kids any 
more..lol

Got chicken thighs baking in oven for dinner..probably baked potato and green 
beans and cottage cheese or salad to go with,,i'm hooked on croissants
lately..they are so good!

Nice day in 60s and house stayed cool.  Should be good for sleeping.
Just piddled again today.. did a load of laundry but folded and stored yet,,I get
lazy in the afternoons..lol

too much water evaporates using a sprinklerStormy last night with thunder and rain that continued..

into this AM..just 59f here now..
Not much sleep last night so have rested a lot today ..
Just took care of the critters and birds ..
Think I'll thaw a salmon fillet for tonight..have green beans cooked
already..

 Hi

80s sunny and muggy..
Staying in  for awhile till cooler,,
supposed to start raining by 4PM into Sat AM
We will see..they are wrong more than are right.
Judy vacced and took grocery list to do shopping and bring by
sunday.
Got parsley and 6 seed pots of butternut squash planted last night on
the partio.
Will see how many germinate and probably only plant 3 as if they do well they
will vine all over and take up a lot of space.
