Is there any possibility that August will be cooler? We watered plants and then went to Costco, had lunch, and bought groceries. It is just stupid hot!
However, please let me explain. I am NOT in any way wishing for winter. But those of you that like it... enjoy the picture above.
Now if anybody, anywhere has seen the rain, PLEASE send it my way. We are already over 12" below normal and with these hot temperatures our grass is dying and large cracks are appearing in the yard and around the foundations.
It was 93 here too Cheryl. I was in all day too. Started making the dinner dish for Sunday. Thought it was Saturday, so I frozze it. I've never froze pasta , have you? I hope it turnes out ok as it has 1/2 & 1/2 and cheese in it. Watered all the plants outside a little while ago and fresh water for the irds. I need to go out and get the hummer feeds and give them fresh food then make more. I hope I have enough to give the three feederrs I have. Have been watching Lucifer epsodes. It used to be on regular tv then they took it off and moved it to a pay channel. That's the second series I was into that they moved to steaming and Rich isn't paying for any channles even though he can afford it. Oh well I'll watch what I can and be grateful even if it is a re run!. Hope you get a break from the heat tomorrow. Keep cool.
Open your heart as you step out today because there are always some precious and meaningful opportunities lurking around. Be prepared to catch and bag those opportunities.
It wasn't bad here today temp wise - only 89 but tomorrow they say will be 99. I was inside all day doing housework while Rich did some of his errands. He had the men's meeting at the VFW this evening and I went as a friend of ours was gonna be there after being gone for a while on vacation. We'll see them both Sunday nite for dominoes - it'll just be the 4 of us as the other gal says she has too much going on to attend. I cook and have to be careful of what I cook as they are still on Weight Watchers - the other gal and I are so tired of this (special cooking) like no mashed potatoes ect. and I'm sick and tired of cabbage. Hope you will stay inside where it will be cool. Wishing you a good nite. Hugs, Wendy
Yes, it is July and summertime in the ole town the next 10 days in a row and that is NOT the feel like temperatures. I am having a hard time keeping my plants from wilting. Can you say, "HOT"???
We have had fireworks over our house for 3 nights in a row now. The first two nights were short lived, but last night started at 8 pm as I was watering plants in the back at 95°. At 10 pm we were still 90° and the mosquitos were terrible. Neighbors on both sides of us were shooting off fireworks over our house. Yes, I have videos!
I hope you are celebrating and having a fun day with family and eating delicious food. I will be celebrating on Tuesday and Wednesday by working so I will check in when I have a minute or two.
I will also be wearing my new Red, White, and Blue scarfs that a sweet friend sent to me to work to celebrate with my new nails. I will be sharing lots of smiles too!
Hi Cheryl. I can't beslieve June is over and the holiday weekend is here. We just got back from honey's FRA convention in Williamsburg, Va. It was nice getting awasy but alwayss nice getting back home and into your familiar routine. The dog was taken care of by Rich's daughter and she's glad to be home also. The only plans we have for the holiday is to go to a bbq at the post. I'm to make a pasta salad - which I don't even want to go - I wanted to go to a friend's place but that means making two dishes and I have no idea how I'm gonna manage that. It was 90 today and I found that when I got home some of my plants died - too hot and no water, and we were only gone for 3 days. So it looks like I'll have to find something else now and they were dong so well and so pretty. Stay cool my friend and have a save and enjoyable holiday weekend. Hugs, Wendy
Is it fall yet? I feel like I have a sweater on because I just finished mowing the yard. I am dripping wet. At 11 am we feel like 95°! Now to tell the truth, I love summer but that will be the last time I mow for a long time if we don't get rain, and I mean lots of rain.
Yesterday I got videos of several birds including the hummingbird above. The blue jay, mockingbird and dove were all taking baths in 3 of the birdbaths. The dove was on the ground birdbath and the blue jay and mockingbird were about 6' apart.
I hope you enjoy my pictures as I love taking and sharing them even if I call a praying mantis a walking stick by mistake. Thanks for noticing and making me look up both to compare.
