Even though it is a Federal Holiday, it is the start of another week and for us ten days of over 100° with as high as 105°coming our way.
I finally got nails put on as I guess I was letting them rest! I decided on my favorite color as I will change them again before the 4th of July.
We ate BBQ with the kids and lots of wonderful cold salads, (pea salad, spiral pasta salad, potato salad) and spent time with the girls. Michelle showed me her garden, SunFlower, cucumber, watermelon, lettuce, and spinach... and her growing chickens too.
Then last night, when I went out to check out the sunset to take a picture, I spotted our Jack Rabbit. I got four videos over 30 seconds of each of him in our carport area. I hope your Father's Day Sunday was a blessed one too! Enjoy this last day of Spring.
Hope your honey has had a good Father's Day so far Cheryl. Rich started his day off with a free breakfast for all dads at the post - sausage, bacon, steak bites, sausage and gravy with biscuits, eggs with peppers and fruit. It was a nice spread and tonite is dominos so we'll have dinner there. We won't start till 6 as the hosts rent their camper out and the other folks had car trouble so they'll be late getting to the area where they are to meet. We play Mexican Train dominos and we'll start at 12's not the usual 15's as we'd be there till dawn's eary light!! Came home after breakfast and took a nap as I didn't sleep too good cause of my hip-then had to get up early for breakfast at 10. So how was your day Cheryl? Do anything special for your honey for Father's Day? Hope you enjoy the rest of this beautiful day whatever it brings. Hugs, Wendy
Hope you have a peaceful Sunday and that you may have some cucumbers and tomatoes real soon. I'm with you, I don't like it too hot or to cold outside. Is there a place like this in the U S? I sure don't know lol.
So proud of the Father my son is to his girls and of my DIL for being an awesome Mom to them too. Hope each of you will have a Blessed day today and Sunday.
Have fun because you never know what tomorrow will bring. George, Kyle Kid, has 5-6 months. He has an awesome outlook and takes each day as it comes. He loves Jesus and is looking forward to seeing Judy, his wife for over 60 years, who passed away last September again soon.
I know those of you on the East and the West coasts have a reprieve from this heat, but at 10:30 am we are nearing a "feel like" of 100°. I made it outside to water plants and looked just like the picture above by the time I was finished.
So now that I have cooled a bit under the ceiling fan in the computer room and combed my hair. I thought I would check and see how you are doing this Friday.
I hope you and your friends are gathering for the long weekend and have a plan to stay cool and to have a fun party time in the old town. We are excited after 3 days with no softball (it is over) or baseball, there are 2 college baseball games today and tomorrow. So I will check on you later!
It was a good day and not hot at all - was only 80 and so pretty, Cheryl. Went to dinner and had their prim rib whichh is their slpecial on Thursdays with 11 other people. A real good turnout. Have a good nite and a great Friday. Hugs, Wendy
It was a nice day here - not too hot or humid at all. Went to the center - had 'breakfast' lunch, then stayed for a craft. made a tea cup hanging bird feeder. i don't have a tree out front anymore a it had to be cut down as it was diseased. Kinda miss it. Well it was at boyfriend's house. But it's pretty and I might hang it in the house somewhere. Felt tired all day and tried to lie down but I didn't sleep. Had easy dinner of leftovers and now gonna take a shower and wash my hair. it'll wake me up for a while anywyay! Going out to dinner with the group tomorrow. Have a nice nite! Hugs, Wendy
The front and back plants have already been watered today. I am craving BACON so I "might" fry up a pound. Doesn't Bacon and Egg Sandwich sound good?
Then I hope to read the new book I started this week. If I read at night I get sleepy. Besides, I love Hallmark and UPtv Christian and "feel good" movies.
It's been hot here too Cheryl - in the 90's yesterday and very humid. Today 88 and not quite as bad but still hot. We've been inside in the cool house too except for going out for lunch. Started to clean out the old fridge but haven't finished it and now we are starting to use it - it's coming in handy. Went to the auxillary meeeting last nite and stayed till 9 - way later than normal. So I never got on the site to make comments. We're watching a serise on Prime called Night Sky - really good. Don't know if you have Amazon Prime on your TV but this is a good show. Hope you have a good rest of the day. Hugs, Wendy
I have errands to run today. The College World Series starts Friday. So I will catch up on movies on UPtv or Hallmark or read Christian books on Kindle. But for now, I am off and running.
Don't forget to share your smile with everyone you encounter. We have a reprieve from 100's until next Monday, unless they change the forecast, but that is something to smile about. Your page and your picture always make me smile.
Short night, 4 hours sleep. The Longhorns baseball game was supposed to start at 3 pm but with rain delay in NC, it didn't start until 9:15 pm. However, we are heading on to Omaha so it was worth the very late night. Then dogs were barking at a snake way before daylight and later two of them each caught a mouse, one of which brought the still barely alive one in the house. It is nap time in our house! SO, HOW IS YOUR MONDAY GOING?
