Good morning. Happy HUMP DAY. I'm looking forward to another day of nothingness. I could almost send the same comment out as far as the text of my message because it was that kind of day. I managed to get out yesterday in an icy condition as far is getting to my mailbox. I was able to sprinkle some salt down and almost had an immediate reaction. Last night we were expecting more of the same as far as causing icy conditions. The difference for this writer will be that I had some salt down on the pavement so I should be relatively good on my property. I received an e-mail from one of my neighbors mentioning the guy down the street fell on his head. Nothing critical. A bump on the head and a headache. If I wouldn't have looked at the weather report before I tried it, it could have been my doom. In either case, I shall remain secluded for a second straight day except for a trip, or two, to the mailbox. I still have not retrieved my mail from yesterday but then again, there is no hurry. I do not know if I shall ever see 32°again in my backyard. A brief glance out the window in the dark reveals a street that looks icy.
Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. We had that icy rain last night and therefore I have been sequestered in my house overnight. I have yet to get out and get my mail, not that it is ever important. However, this month I shall receive all of my documents for tax purposes. I was hoping that the slipperiness would leave overnight, but of course not this time of year. I do have a preview of the weather and later today there should be some sunshine. That should enable me to get out to the mailbox. In the meantime, I have self imposed myself into oblivion, a state of remembrance. I have received this admonishment from the weather people: slippery travel on untreated roads and sidewalks this morning... untreated roads, sidewalks, and parking lots will be icy this morning from freezing drizzle that fell overnight. And of course my salt is in the garage. So I shall be waiting it out.
Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet! And.......... if you drink coffee, drink the good coffee.
Good morning on this Monday morning. A little colder this morning than previous mornings, about 22°. The air has a dampness to it. Heavy frost on vehicles. It was not horrendous but you knew it was cold. It was reasonable the first 3 1/2 miles, and then for about a mile a person's face would become cold. I analyzed the situation by looking at a flag blowing in the wind. I think that must have started at about the time the cold became noticeable. In either case, it seemed to subside the last half mile. I actually had to force myself out the door this morning due to laziness and cowardice. Once completed, I would expected a hero's welcome back in my neighborhood except it was 4:30 AM and most people were hiding in their beds. A high note for this morning is that I'm drinking the good coffee.
A thought for today: I wonder if people rinse their mouths upon completion of brushing their teeth. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Another pleasant morning with the temperature, about 26°. However, there was no wind to speak of and it was pleasant being out before the people of my city. I like to jog in the streets and therefore I like to get out at approximately 3:00 AM, there is no traffic. This morning I met with very few cars and no one who I would label a pedestrian. And the air is clean and good and you can breathe good air unlike in my fortress where dust occupies space.
I found out yesterday that it is possible for something in my freezer to become inedible. I found two hot dogs in the freezer that have been there since the beginning of time. They were encased in frost. I do not remember purchasing the long hot dogs and these were them. In either case, I did the proper preparations. I sat down to enjoy them and took one bite, and that was enough. Unfortunately, unlike my various food substances in other parts of my fortress, I do not have these items reference by dates. As much as I hate to throw food away, I disposed of these hot dogs immediately. As the years pass by, I have been having to throw out certain food substances more and more.
I plan on remaining sequestered for today. I suppose I could possibly go out for a constitutional around my neighborhood later in the day if boredom were to conquer me. My current status is drinking the bad coffee, I'm doing sold to rid my coffee maker of its last vestiges of vinegar, listening to the stereo, and composing some communiques and emails. This is the last week that it is appropriate for people to keep their Christmas decorations intact. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Another weekend has arrived. A relatively warm morning this morning. At 3:00 AM it was 28°. There was a windchill of 22°but it felt reasonable. I was not planning on going for exercise but one never knows when the snow and the ice will arrive. Everything went well and my Saturday is off to a good start. I am currently drinking the bad coffee with the vinegar taste. It actually is not as bad as years passed when I would not rinse the pot thoroughly. So the coffee is acceptable, I just will not enjoy it. I am uncertain of an agenda for today. I'm thinking of going out to the mall and listening to some conversation. It is really not as enjoyable anymore with 75% of the anchor stores closed. But since I really don't have a real life, this will take the place of it and I imagine that I know these people and what they're talking about in their conversation. A prime place to listen to people is in the coffee shop at Barnes &Noble. But then again as the day goes on, I may lose heart and become lazy and take the easy way of staying in my READY ROOM. Whatever I do shall be a game time decision. Of course I have church later. That will interfere with my watching the football game. I went to the grocery store yesterday with a specific intent on getting a couple of pieces of fish that are already prepared. The mission was a failure and I was forced to come home and eat something out of my freezer that I believe had a date BEFORE THE COMMON ERA. In either case, I really should start eating out of the freezer as I have no room in the freezer for anything.
Have a good day. Let's be careful out there. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. It is MOVIE DAY and the excitement is intense. I'm scheduled in approximately 4 hours, give or take 23 seconds. I have previewed the weather for the next few days and there is excitement. They are forecasting that the temperature will get into the low thirties. For my backyard in January that is good. Of course this time of year the weather forecast can change by the hour. I'm also thinking of going on safari to the grocery store today since I kept my motor vehicle activated out of the garage from my agenda for yesterday.
Speaking of my agenda of yesterday, it went fairly well as I engaged in some conversation in real time. Of course I hardly knew anyone so people kept coming up and introducing themselves to this writer. I was able to get away without going to the feed that they always have after these affairs. I think my reputation is proceeding me as someone walked up to me and mentioned that they probably would not see me at the feed. But other than that, I was able to complete my trip back and forth without the vehicle going out of control and smashing into another vehicle or a tree. I was also able to avoid any law enforcement in regards to the speed limit. One thing that was a failure was my trip to the Walmart. It really was not a trip to the Walmart as I basically stopped at the store on the way home. I had a key made and of course it doesn't work. It would not even go into the lock. I suspected there was going to be trouble when the guy making the key mentioned that something was broke and he would have to use a different fixture in its place. When he was done he examined the key and told me it looked close enough. Whatever! When I get near the other Walmart, I shall try again.
I did not make any coffee yesterday. My coffee maker has been slowing down and is due for a vinegar injection. And since I did not use it yesterday, I believe it probably accelerated the slowdown. I shall have to remember later to start the vinegar treatments. I had to make the good coffee this morning due to the emptiness of the canister of the bad coffee. I would have had to go and get new canister of the other room and this time of morning I was not ready for that. I shall have to remember during the day to replace the canister that is empty.
I leave you now in the hope that you have a good day on this the eve of the weekend. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
GOOD MORNING. An agenda this morning and then returning to not being accountable for anything. I also am making a plan to my alternate route with the storm door will not open. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Happy hump day. At 3:00 AM it is 13°with a windchill of -3°. I believe that is what's called cold. Last summer I had a new storm door put on my rear door. It has worked really well. However, now that the cold weather is here, the outside handle seems to freeze up and not work when one is outside. In other words, stopping one from getting back into the house. I have not figured out a solution. I have tried putting a plastic bag over the handle figuring it would keep the moisture from the handle hoping to solve this problem. It is not working. I may have to make a key for the front door so if I am out somewhere, when I get home if the situation is critical, I will have a way into the house. As I have previously stated in other communiques, I go out to the street to throw water away and usually am not dressed properly. The first time this happened, I was in that situation. Fortunately I had a receptacle along that I carried water in and was able to hit the handle to make it work. I am now feeling sorry for myself.
Since I have an agenda for tomorrow to go somewhere, I think I shall remain secluded in my FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE for today so as not to contract some illness which will hinder my accomplishing my agenda for tomorrow. I have previewed the weather for the next 10 days and it looks as if they were optimistic yesterday about the temperature getting back to the forties. It does not look as if the temperature will ever get back to that magic number again of 40*. Once again, self pity.
I leave you hoping that you have a good day. I'm drinking the bad coffee and I have a isolated myself in my READY ROOM hoping to stay warm. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
good morning! trying to decide if i want to venture out...it's really icy out...but i need to pick up some meds..and need a few things from the grocery store...hope your day is rosy...hugs
Good morning. I went for some exercise this morning and the temperature was reasonable. The weather website said it was 33°but I find that hard to believe as there was no standing water. Everything was frozen over. And if my science does not fail me, freezing is 32°. That being said, some of the roads were slippery. I believe it was because of frost. There didn't seem to be any wetness to most of the roads and so the only thing that could make them slippery is frost. And it was not all of the roads, just some of them. It actually was easier to jog on the sidewalks. I usually do not like to use the sidewalks for my exercise for various reasons but this morning there did not seem to be any frost on the sidewalks. All this being said, it was not so slippery as to endanger one's very being. I did have to eliminate from my schedule the path next to the creek. That was slippery enough that I could have incurred injury. Everything went well for this time of the year, it felt pretty good out. The next two or three days are going to be something different. I hope on Thursday the weather is better as I am scheduled to drive someplace 30 miles from my backyard. And of course, I do not have a cell phone in case something happens on the road. I do not look forward to the challenge.
I'm thinking about activating my motor vehicle out of the garage and going on safari to the grocery store today. It will give me the opportunity to put some gasoline into the car so I do not have to bother with that on the day of my day trip. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
WASHINGTON DC
Her mother gave her this outfit for her trip to London in 1965, I believe.
Good morning on this Monday morning. It looks like my agenda will not exist today. It has been raining all night and it continues to do so this morning. It is 40°out at 4:00 AM. This is almost unheard of in the month of January in my backyard. I went to throw some water out this morning and if it would not be slippery, I would've went for my exercise despite the rain. I guess I should be happy that it is not snowing. I have decided to settle into my FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE. The conditions of my streets in my area will most likely prohibit a constitutional today with all of the standing water. It could actually be slippery because of the patches of ice underneath the water.
Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning on this Sunday morning. Not too bad in my backyard. About 26°and a clear sky. I went out this morning for some exercising being fully cognizant that the ground could be slippery with moisture. There were a good parts, and there were bad parts. I was cautious and was able to complete my task without injury. I shall remain in my area the rest of the day with perhaps a constitutional around the area. Thus, I'm drinking the good coffee. I forgot to mention the other day when reporting on my trip to the movie theater, I had a private showing of the movie. Every so often I am the only one in attendance at the movie. It could be that I like the early performance, or the movie does not have a lot of publicity, or I am such an important person that they give me a private showing.
Have a good Sunday. Ciao for now and watch your wallet! A postscript: I have received an email about the death of someone I don't even remember meeting. I suppose I shall have to attend the funeral in honor of some of my ancestors. That will be later in the week.
Good morning on this Saturday morning. Yesterday I was successful in all of my endeavors. I am not certain it was a good thing but I got completed my agenda. It also was a nice day out with a lot of sun that made it seem as I was not in an icebox, or for you people living in the 21st century, a refrigerator. I managed to return to the store at the mall to return the item I purchased. There was no fanfare and no one started to yell at me.
The movie yesterday was better than I thought. Escape Room. It is like the Saw movies, but better, I think. They had a disclaimer at the box office about the movie might cause seizures. I never have had one so I do not know what causes them but I saw nothing unusual in the movie to cause a problem.
As far as today, my usual Saturday agenda for the winter. This morning, my current status: in my READY ROOM; drinking the bad coffee; listening to the stereo; composing my communiques. Later in the day, the NFL playoffs begin. Personally I do not like the timing of the games. But they never asked me my opinion. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
