Hubby and I thought it was Saturday all day today. We went to Bass Pro to buy bullets. Then we ate lunch at WhatABurger. We stopped by Costco to get gas in my car and decided we would go in and get a bag of Scotts Weed & Feed for the yard in case we ever have a chance for rain.
If I had this grill on my SUV, do you think when I honked my horn at stupid drivers they would move out of the way faster? My last solo trip to town, I honked my horn at least 6 times.
It was an extremely busy morning beginning at about 5:15... Bella wanted out of the crate, in & out the doggie door, potty, drink water, try to get any of the other 4 dogs to play, chase toys across the floor... You know, just puppy stuff for a one year old. But before we could leave to run errands, I had to go outside and throw the flat, tug-a-war, squeaky squirrel so Carly ran and chased Bella with it all over the back yard. Nothing like peace and quiet when it is nap time.
So now I am off to the neighbors to collect fresh eggs from the 5 chickens that lay eggs daily and check on the other chickens that haven't started laying eggs yet.
This was Bennett at WalMart, as they were shopping for their weekend trip, he found a praying mantis in the store. He LOVES bugs!
Then I need to read some of Book #8 in my current series, Three Rivers Ranch Romance. And watch the hummingbirds, butterflies, and other birds (not bugs).
KEEPING YOU IN MY PRAYER'S GEORGE. THIS WHOLE WORLD HAS GONE IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. SOON AND VERY SOON, JESUS WILL BE TAKING US ALL HOME TO BE TOGETHER AGAIN. GOD BLESS YOU GEORGE. LEE

Happy Friday my friend and hope you have a great weekend. Very hot for today, Saturday and Sunday then cooling down with good chances of rain all week. Know having thoughts of my wife will always be but that's part of the healing process. Many years of love and happiness.

Good day and a joyful weekend for you. Very sad days for me as I lost my beautiful wife of 65 years. She has been my life with so many happy memories. She looked so beautiful, calm and rested on her passing. So now I go on thinking and missing her........George
Guess what! I am excited. Yes we are going to be mid 90's today, BUT there is a hint of fall in the air. Rain is all around us, not quite here yet. We are hopeful that we get a little bit as the yard in the back is very dry in the hot spots. But not a drop for us today.
First thing every morning I look outside to see if there is color in the sky. Again, guess what... it was there today. You know how I love to take pictures. So look how our day started.
So now we are off to the feed store for more dog food and just happen to pass by the Mexican Food restaurant for some Wednesday enchilada special to bring home for lunch.
Don't forget to share that smile if you are out and about today and that I am sending Blessings & Hugs your way.
I can't tell you how much we are enjoying Bella, the dog. If none of my dogs want to play, Bella just plays by herself. She will take toys out the doggie door and later bring them back inside. Last night she found a tennis ball in the toy basket and played with it for an hour. She would put it on the couch, jump up on the couch, push it off with her nose, and then run to get it as it bounced across the tile floor.
And that is all it takes to be happy. I hope you are finding what makes you happy today and doing it. I went to Costco and to Kroger for groceries on our list and got them all put away. I even baked a Braum's Cherry Pie (from frozen). I made Lemon Cream Cheese Bars yesterday for my hubby. I also made Broccoli & Apple Salad with Yogurt but we haven't eaten it yet.
So now I am heading outside to throw something and watch Bella, Carly, Reba, J Lo, and Miss Kitty either chase it or just turn and look at me wondering when I am going to go pick it up.
Hi, my friends, I'm back!!!! Thank you all, for all the sweet comments. So sorry to be so long away from here on, The Hill. Wow, It has been a long time. I have been so busy, and then in spring I was out strait, feverishly planting the veggie “container garden”. Then I have to cut down all the trees to make room for sunshine to be on the plants more than 8 hours a day. Early Summer was too hot to work outside all day so I only worked if it cooled morning and evening. Around, mid-June I hurt my knee, walking backward, and falling over a tree, and trapping my foot under another tree. If you watch Pit Bulls & Parolees, I pretty much did the same thing Tia did to her knee. Well, I even have corn in buckets. They are up against the house wall, 'cause corn needs competition to grow tall; so farmers planted sunflowers around the corn field because sunflowers grow faster than corn. Hence, competition. It was too late in the year to start sunflowers from seed. Well, I was flat on my back for 3+ weeks then on crutches a couple months. Only recently, I haven't needed crutches, nor the knee brace, all the time; but I'm still not steady on my feet, so I walk very carefully. I have been scrambling to catch up on all the things that I haven't been able to do around here; but the painful knee is so exhausting. Still can't work on trees with chain-saw. I only mowed once early June; planned to mow, but wrecked knee the day before I had planned to. The yard is a wild savanna; So, I have ordered an industrial weed wacker that has a saw blade, metal lawnmower like blades, and stiff plastic blades, self propelled over-sized wheels, 2- 24v-4.0H, Lith'. Batteries, even though it only uses 1 at a time, and a 30 min., quick charger. With cash back and coupons I got all for $82, so I think I “done good” on the intensive research. My friend Tony can't believe I found that deal. I'll let you know if I have trouble with it. So, that has been my summer adventure. And, I am a 70 yr old diabetic with a heart condition, so I'm still quarantined since last June 2020... 2020. I also, haven't been able to do much with replacing the siding on my house. Started to prep the underlay, then hurt the knee. Hopefully my knee will be able to let me work on that within the next week. I also want to saw up the trees that are down, for heat wood this winter. If not, I can tarp the wall, buy wood, and use those trees next winter. I also have to replace my deck this fall. Just need to complete, in front of the door. It is 4 days on the siding and 4 days on the deck, that absolutely, has to be done before snow. The rest can wait until spring. But, I should be able to get a lot more done, before snow. I hope to be here (I know, I say this every time) a whole lot more often. I'll catch up, eventually. Thank you again for being my friend. I hope all are well, and I hope everyone made it through the horrible weather we just had. My heart goes out to any who have been harmed, by that &/or the evacuation from Afghanistan &/or Covid-Delta &/or all the chaos, that we have been plagued by this past year plus. Well, time to go to bed. Hugs to all, TP
The long weekend is almost over and it has not cooled off at all in Texas. My goodness it is still hot, humid and miserable outside.
I sure hope that you found time to just chill and to recharge between hurricanes, tornados, fires, flooding and just the fun times of getting older. We have to be tough to survive!
So as I am sitting here counting my blessings and just want you to know that your name is included on my list.
So now I am headed to the magical, mystical ranch in the book I am reading because that is my way of "Chillin'".
Sorry for your loss, George. Wishing for you the peace that passes all understanding. God bless you and comfort you and your family during this difficult time.
