Good morning. Happy Saturday. Auditing my refrigerator this morning, there is a glaring weakness of the product in my refrigerator, namely chocolate milk. I think I have enough for today. It shall be a game time decision on when to mount a safari to go out and get a refill. I have also come to the conclusion that my wrist is not getting better and that I believe it is carpal tunnel, or whatever they call it. I have heard of this situation in the past and people going under the knife to rectify the situation. I shall try to avoid that as long as I can function reasonably properly. I imagine everyone is getting pumped up for FAT TUESDAY. I noticed quite a few pages celebrating ASH WEDNESDAY. My understanding is that Her Majesty will not be having a contest for that. Outside of the job of the chocolate milk and going to church later, I shall be doing nothing. I have toyed with the idea of going to a pancake breakfast at the church tomorrow but then again, I would have to participate in something, and that is not my long suit. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Happy Friday. It is about 41° F and that is the high for the day. The nice weather is coming to an end as far as our warm temperatures go. We will be getting back to normal as the earth is moving away from the Sun. The good temps will return when the Earth gets to the other side of the Sun. My agenda is fluid for today. Looking into a crystal ball, I see myself walking over to the convenience store for bananas. I am on my last banana right now. It looks terrible but the inside will be acceptable. I was hoping that my wrist would return to normal after taking off the sling. There are still some problems. One can only hope for the best. I went to church yesterday and almost turned around and went back home. As I entered the vestibule, I could see the inside of the church and there was someone sitting in my place. As Sheldon Cooper would say, you're in my spot! This is unheard of for a daily Mass. I eventually conquered my feelings of insecurity and went to a different area. I am going to find the reserve signs they use for funerals and hopefully it will eliminate all of my problems in life. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Greetings. Waiting for the rain at 3:45, and it is warm. 44*, heading for 55*. This is bordering on record temps for this time of year. The big project for today, take the recyclables out to the alley, if there is not anything on the TV. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Some pics from the walk yesterday. The one good thing about my changing times to daylight is I can see some things not seen in the dark. Live long and prosper.
Spring is people having the garden up to par.
This will be here all year without taking decor down.
Happy Monday in February. I am pondering coffee this morning as it has been 2 months since I have indulged. I hope the coffee maker works although I have a new one in case of an emergency. Nothing planned except a walk later, maybe to Walmart for a price check, or maybe even a couple of purchases. Undecided. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Happy Sunday. Once the sun came out yesterday, it was glorious. Nothing planned for today. Maybe a walk. I see frost on my windshield of the car so I'm not interested in going to the store for some imaginary need. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Happy Saturday. The day, although it is still dark, is starting at 33* and will get up to 43*F. It is January. My day at the beach yesterday turned out rather cool. Ice on the river and my hands turning red from the temps. River was also too low to swim as the locks are open all the way South. Today my schedule is for church at 4 and maybe a walk. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
I went to the beach today. It is supposed to be 50*F but instead, 30*. The river is way down as the locks are open all the way south. I did not even open the beach blanket. It felt cold as my hands turned red. Humbug! I took the groundhog's word this morning for the early spring.
Good morning. Happy February. A little oddity this year as the month of February has 29 days. There's also another oddity, Valentine's Day falls on ASH WEDNESDAY. I wonder how old the good Christians will celebrate Valentine's Day on that day. I remember a similar situation at a company I was working at. A company function at an auditorium with over 3000 people. It happened to be on a Friday and they were serving dinners with meat. Somehow they got special dispensation from the bishop for Catholics to be able to eat meat on that Friday. Of course I saw the same thing on Saint Patrick's Day. Hopefully you have all of your calendar pages changed. I got up early this morning to accept the challenge of turning all three calendars. I was able to preview them and noticed I have nothing formidable coming up. Undecided on a schedule for today. After a rigorous schedule yesterday of starting the day off and Walmart, then church, and finally a 2 mile walk. I wanted to get to the beach but for various reasons I was unsuccessful. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Happy HUMP DAY. It is also the last day of the month where we have to change the calendar pages. It helps to do some calisthenics before changing the pages so we don't pull a muscle. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Fairly warm this morning. About 38* but will not rise much more today. Sun came out yesterday and thus some snow has left the yard. I may attend church this morning, the daily Mass, for the first time in a few weeks. And maybe get on a walk. I made about 2 miles yesterday. I miss the middle of the night travels but I am done with that. I think I shall also be removing the splint today. As a matter of fact, I know I will. I had it put on 8 weeks ago today, about 10:15 AM, give or take 43 seconds, colonial time. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. I have just passed the hour of my 8 week anniversary of the incident. Undecided on whether to take the splint off today or tomorrow. I may put the soft one on for a couple of days before going back to the coffee. I did get to the store yesterday and purchased some Black Silk, a coffee I enjoy more than what is in my Fortress in anticipation of tipping the coffee cup. Nothing planned for today except a walk over to get some bananas. Then if I get some sun in my yard, I may take the longer walk. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning on this Saturday in January, the last one. It is about 35*F heading to 38 later. With all the rain, snow is melting. I walked over to Walmart yesterday and was besieged by puddles from the melting. For the most part, no slippery places. Felt good to get out even though it was drizzling. Looks like I will not see the sky today. Better get used to it as February is the cloudiest month. Going to get the car out later. First time in a week. I will be leaving it out as it is not supposed to be cold this week. I should buy a parka for the car. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Yesterday I found the missing caboose. They not only moved the caboose but the tracks with it. They must have used a crane. I see the wheels are sitting on the side of it as pictured with some track. Some guy who was an engineer with the railroad told me one time that the wheels were separate from the cars and railroad cars are not even attached to the wheels. This explains the caboose not being on the wheels.
Good morning. Starting the day off at 34°and heading for 38 degrees later. The downside, it is going to start raining at about 7:00 AM. The good thing is a lot of the snow shall go away. And I don't see much snow in the forecast in the next 10 days. I was able to get out for a decent walk yesterday. I suppose I got in about three and a half miles. That is the first time I got that distance since my incident. I was hoping for another Hollywood story today but it doesn't look good. I might be able to get out for a constitutional in the neighborhood. Most of the hard ice from the snow on the road has turned to slush. That is a good thing if you're out for a walk. Other than that, nothing planned for today. Have a good day and don't forget to put out the garbage. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
