Good morning. 23* at 2AM, heading for 32*F. Nothing planned for today except maybe a walk somewhere. The sidewalks still leave something to be desired so, eyes open, caution. I claimed success yesterday on the safari to the store. Not only in securing eggs and some non essential items, but later in the day, a neighbor who has access to some eggs secured another dozen for me. So, the people who want to start a GO FUND ME page do not have that burden. Since I no longer do the exercise in the middle of the night, I seem to be awakening earlier than ever. Writing about that, in about 15 minutes I will celebrate the 7 week anniversary of the incident. In about a week, I shall be back to the coffee. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Happy Sunday. After the devastating defeat yesterday of not getting eggs, I am going to give it a try this morning. At least that is the plan. It is -1* right now and I believe that will be the nadir for the rest of time. Outside of the egg project, nothing else planned. I will pick up some other items for my minimum purchase for the month with the bank interest. That is what is good about self-checkout, I can make the separate purchases without a clerk calling me names. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. I open this morning without bananas and/or eggs. I intend to remedy this later when I liberate the car from the garage and rejoin the human race. I shall go to the store and church, It is -4 now going down to -8 by 8am. Then it will get up to 10* later. One more cold night before warming somewhat depending on your definition of that. In either case, I shall be waiting at least for daylight, and maybe wait for it to get to zero. The last time out with the car was the incident of this writer being stuck in the snow bank, for the lack of a better term. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Cold this morning but wind chill advisory less of a time period each day. It is 4*F as of this typing but will drop to minus temps by 8 this morning. Then it will rise to the extreme of 14* later. This too will end as February nears and the problem will come to mind if I need a new lawn mower. I also am in anticipation of getting the car activated on Saturday and become a part of society again...... in a way. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Some snow showers this afternoon. 5* now, dropping to -2 by 8 this morning. A balmy high of 12* later. Yesterday, I managed to get out and walk over to my bank to print out a tax document. I had to walk cautiously in some places, my neighborhood because of the ice but made it over there successfully. Did not talk to anyone there so I heard no human voices, but did get to hear a human when I struck up a conversation with someone blowing some snow. And yes, the person stopped the blower. Today, the most hated person on the planet is the person who invented FITTED SHEETS. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Greetings. Right now, -4*F but heading for 13* later. Never thought I would see double digits again. Sunday will be the end of this horror of negative temps forever. I walked around the block yesterday to get some fresh air and get out of the house. Too slippery to enjoy it though. I made a tortoise look like a road runner. One of the problems with my neighborhood is they can not put salt or sand on the road because I have a surface where water can leak through it and it is expensive. Nothing planned for today. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Not as bad today. -6F now going to 3* later. Yesterday, I went out to the street as the sun was out giving the appearance of all is right. It was zero but was not horrible as I chatted with the neighbor. Gave me the feeling of a connection with the world. Waiting for summer weather on the 21st. Today I am going to give a last chance to fixing my other computer as everything in the world has failed so far. My provider, Microsoft, none of these are of help. If it does not rectify today, so be it. I shall go without the security and not worry about the fate of that computer. I think this computer will have the same fate, for a different reason, in a few months. This computer was bought before the time of Nero. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. -6*F now at 2 AM, but temps drop to -14* by 8 AM. I shall remain in seclusion today. Martin Luther King Day. No mail today in the Colonies. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. -7*F, but the good news is it is going to get to zero today. Bring out the beach blankets. I woke up this morning and for some reason thought it to be Monday. I think it was because of all the anxiety and stress yesterday. If it was not for 3 of my neighbors I still would be stuck in the snow in the alley. It is good to know all of my neighbors do not hate me. I am under a wind chill warning, in the backyard, not in the house. A little known fact: I bought 6 bananas yesterday for the first time in my life. I am now prepared for sequestration for the week. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. 21* going to -6*F. We got 9 inches of snow. Could have been worse. When daylight comes, I shall have to try to get the car out of the garage and go to the funeral I want to attend, and of course, go to church later in the afternoon. It does not look like the plow came through yet. This is the kind of day I am glad I do not have the Camaro. Have a good day. I suppose the farmers like this. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Heavy snow with accumulations of 9 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph producing patchy blowing and drifting the snow. And our sub zero temps are coming in later tomorrow. I was going to a funeral tomorrow but now I may omit that. Game time decision. I have the splint on my wrist so that should be interesting for shoveling. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
I used to be so in love with this woman but then Bob took her from me
Good morning. 23* going to 27*. We got a little snow overnight. The bottom is going to fall out on Saturday with more snow and sub zero temps. And Saturday I will have to get the car out of the garage and do a couple of things. If I did not have church, I would not go out. It is a hassle to get the car out as I have to lift the garage door. Nothing planned for today. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. The storm seems to be done and it was not as bad as the prediction. I suppose about 5 inches. The real problem is coming this weekend. It is going to be a high of zero on Sunday, it will reach a -12° F. I am not ready for this. To make matters worse, Saturday I am planning on attending a funeral. I might actually not go as I have the car in the garage, however, I have to go to church in the afternoon and I hate walking there when it is below zero. I managed to get my hand with the splint into a glove to do some shoveling. Fortunately I had kept an old pair of gloves that most people would have thrown away. In either case, welcome winter. I should not complain too much as it has been a mild winter until now. It is the first time I used a shovel. The mailman became lazy as there were some cars parked by my neighbor's mailbox. He put all of her mail into my mailbox. There was no danger of it getting mixed up with my mail as I got no mail. I'm assuming he did not put my mail into someone else's mailbox. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. About 31*. Looking out the window, about an inch of snow but snow due to start again at 4 am. I live in the city so hopefully the forecast of the extreme snow will be in the country. I have the car hidden in the garage for now. I was planning on going to a funeral on Saturday but it is going to be below zero F. I hate lifting the garage door to get the car in and out especially with the wrist healing up. I think I have become unwilling to do things with my years in seclusion. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Waiting for the snow storm. Supposedly midnight tonight until Wednesday. The word is 5 to 7 inches. The only thing concerning this writer is the splint on my wrist and not being able to put a glove on that hand over the splint. I would not even shovel unless the snow plow makes it difficult at the mailbox. I would not even be concerned over that if it was not tax season. HUMBUG! I am planning an excursion to Walmart for something in about two hours, give or take 42 seconds. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. 30* heading for 33*. Tomorrow night, expect snow, maybe a storm. I hope it is not too bad as I still have the splint on and I can not wear a glove on my hand. Of course it is the fates that decide everything. Today, nothing planned. Maybe a walk in the neighborhood and hear a voice not electronically created. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Today is the actual day of the Epiphany. I went out this morning to throw out the water and pick up the mail. My mailbox is on the street so I have to actually walk outside. It is 30* but it felt nice out even though I was not dressed decently. Of course, 2am so no one is aghast at this. I missed going for the walk. Nothing planned for today except church later this afternoon. Maybe a walk later this morning even though it is the weekend. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet. Or, as Paul Harvey would say, now you know the rest of the story.
Good morning. It is 28* at 3am, and this is it for the day. I may put some gas in the car today. I will need some bananas by tomorrow. Perhaps the word is WANT. And maybe a constitutional around the area a little today. I miss the middle of the night walk. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Hello. Hump Day in the colonies. I am hoping to take the splint off today, and maybe coffee..... tomorrow. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
