I forgot to mention that I did notice your page is all decked out for Halloween. It's really cute! I was so excited to talk about the decorations that it went right out of my head.. lol
Yes, I do like to decorate for fall and Halloween, but mostly for Halloween (outdoor decorations) . We have mostly ghosts and pumpkins and one skeleton. There are two smaller 3 foot ghosts hanging from the front porch and there's also a skeleton out there to keep them company. I wonder what the FedX driver will think when he comes onto the porch. And there are small pumpkin head pathway markers that light up....a larger plastic pumpkin and ghost that light up. I love the light up stuff. Oh, and I can't forget the two 6 foot ghosts hanging from the tree limbs that blow in the breeze. It's so neat to look out at night to see the eerie orange glow coming from the pumpkins. The glow illuminates the ghosts white sheets. Looks so cool. I feel like a big kid when it comes to this kind of stuff. I didn't think to get any potted mums yet this year. Usually do buy them other years. I like the yellow mums because they are bright and show up the best, so if I do get any mums, they will be yellow. I use to get those tall corn stalks/shucks too, but didn't bother with that this time... Never heard of the concrete pumpkins, Darci, so I had to look those up to see what they look like :)
It's already after 2 am, so I'll say good morning and good night at the same time. I'm a night owl..
Well the surprise birthday party was a surprise after all. There was a good crowd thre but about 10 people didn't show. There was lots of good food there too. BBQ, baked beans with hamburger in them, cole slaw, shrimp, mac n cheese, fruit and cake. It was all good. All her family was there which they should and they helped with the food. She got lots of nice presents too. I got up early and went to the store to buy flowers and to the $ store for a vase. I cut the stems and put them in water and didn't spill a drop all the way there. We left there and went to the CPOA to meet his brother and watch the Cowboy game, left at half time and watched the rest at home - they kicked ass against the Patriots - 38-3. Now watching Yellowstone - a favorite - how about you Darci, do you watch it? Seems like they are starting the show all over again so who knows how long this is gonna take to get back where they left off. Grrr! Have a good rest of the nite - I have the bedroom window open!! Fall hugs, Wendy
Can't believe its October already. Not sure where September went, I know it was a busy month but still....
It is nice to have the windows open a good bit now and air out the house. It's fall cleaning time and I have most of dad's windows done and hope to finish up there this week then i can focus on mine. I have one of mine done!
It's going to be a quiet Sunday here before the new week begins.
Your baked ziti sounds so good. i used to make it when everyone was still home but I don't cook meals like that much anymore. When I do I put some in the freezer to grab out on really busy days. so handy.
It was another win for the Texas Longhorns even though the first half wasn't pretty. So I am happy today!
That's what I look like every day when we feed Gus the cat and give scraps to the chickens.
They just pull at my "heart strings"! Our neighbors will be home sometime Monday so today will be our last evening to gather eggs.
Nothing like being a Mother Hen! But we love taking care of their animals. It was so cute when we "call" Gus and he comes running to us. He knows we love him.
The most fun thing each day is to share your love with someone else. Sometimes it is a hug, sometimes a smile, sometimes just a call. Let's make it a great week and share our love!
Enjoy the gifts of this month... pumpkin patches, hayrides, festivals, apple cider, scarecrows, roasted marshmallows, jack-o-lanterns, colorful dresses on trees, country drives, trick-or-treaters, sweaters, plaid blankets, ... on and on. Enjoy your October! *hugs* -di
PS: Love this page, Darci!!! Speaking of many dirtied dishes... that's the only way I know to cook, trying to keep them washed up as I go. :)
