Those tomatoes look good and make me hunger for a good ole Jersey tomato but I'm down here and can't any. Oh well one of these days I'll go home for the summer. It's a good thing it wasn't this year as the AC has stopped working and they haven't had it fixed yet. Think after 20 some years, it's finally died especially since they never serviced it every year like I did. Oh well, they are the hot ones. The care said 98 when I had to go out this afternoon and it was 95 before noon. I had to get blood work done and a UA ordred back in July. I kept forgetting to get it done. Hate getting up and having to go someplace NPO as I sure need my coffee to help wake me up in the morning. Have been off all day. Going to a meeting at 6 - auxillary meeting. Should be interesting as the senior vice who is a friend is stepping down and it's an elected position. Don't think that new group that's in there wants that job. I won't know as the elections won't be held till next month. dominoes went well except the other woman lost again and she has a bad attitude when she looses - her boyfriend came in first again and he's so tired of her, that he's said he doesn't know if he even wants to conting playing. Glad you are keeping cool - I feel that the temp in here could be a degree or two cooler in here, but honey thinks its ok. Hugs, Wendy
Good afternoon to you. Its a nice cool day here. But only for today, then tomorrow is back into the 90's. We had a cool front come through last night. Got a little rain and enjoying the cool air today. Sorry about me bragging about the cooler temperature. Enjoy the rest of your day and evening my friend. Take care, Hugs, Cheryl
Hello Darci, waiting on some cooling rain showers to help us out. We haven't had rain for days, just thunder and what I call heat lightening, esp at night. Hope you're keeping cool. huggies from me, Beth
I have a plan of action for today in regards to the problem with the frozen vegetables in my freezer. I had a discussion yesterday with a few people on the internet about my frozen vegetables. I tried to prepare a package of carrots yesterday and it ended up a debacle. I have several packages of frozen vegetables. The ones where one steams the package in the microwave works out really well. The other ones where you have to actually open it up and cook it have not turned out well since the beginning of time. I kept trying but was not a success and there are quite a few packages like that in my freezer. I always thought that if I keep something in a freezer it would last for an eternity. Furthermore, the vegetables in question take up a lot of room because of frost gathering in the package. And I've always had trouble finding room in the freezer for items I want. After the incident yesterday, see picture, I have decided to go into the freezer today and attempt to cast out all of the frozen vegetables that are in the older type packaging. Someone asked me what the date was on the package I used yesterday. I have no idea as a best used by is not there. There is some secret code on the package. I think I broke the code down to 2007. That is a guess. I am hopeful I can dispose of these packages. I have not decided if I would just bury the contents in my garden. I have my fingers crossed that the same problem I have with these vegetables I am not going to have with chicken and fish. I seem to have several packages of them and did not even know it. The way this started was yesterday was a good day to use the oven and I was looking for a specific package of fish. I was going through the freezer and found all kinds of things I didn't even know I had. I bought one of those long packages of salmon several years ago that was frozen. The price was right compared to what salmon sells for and I thought it was a good idea however it became too awkward to try to remove the package from the freezer. As a matter of fact, I had to actually use a piece of it immediately when I purchased it to get it in the freezer as it was too long, see pic. I may update this message at a later time depending on my success or failure in this endeavor. Have a good day. May the force be with me.
Good morning. Started raining the last half mile of the walk so it was a success especially since it was not pouring or lighting up the sky. Nothing planned for today as I am preparing myself for the Holy Day tomorrow. Obligatory. Have a good Monday. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
It's Sunday - a day to relax and do whatever. It's been a slow day so far and it's gonna be a hot one - they say 98 so we'll probably be at 100 and who knows what the heat index will be. Our neighbor was transferred to Fla. a few weeks ago - he's in the Coast Guard but left the rest of his family here for a while. He came home for a visit and weed eated our yard plus his own (of course he uses Richie's tool). It's so nice of him to do and we sure miss him being around. Playing dominos today so glad I'm not cooking - it's such a hassle bringing the food, dessert, sodas, dog and all her food and bowls. It's so easy for them as they don't ever have to transport anything plus their 4 dogs. Sure hope you are having fun in your craft room today Darci, and they you create/make some nice things or just crochet. Stay insde and out of the heat and have a great afternoon. Hugs, Wendy
We are over day 20 of heat advisories. Watered early and then watched our church programs. We have one and 1/2 days of relief coming and then back up to 107 by the end of the week.

We are under a heat advisory today so it looks like I'll be spending time in my library/craft/everything else room this afternoon. What are you doing? It's Sunday; a good day to rest and just do what makes your heart happy!
I made some pumpkin muffins this morning for my dad since he dug up some stumps in my side yard yesterday that finally rotted down some, thankfully he has a tractor that does all the work! will be so nice on mowing day having them gone. He loves muffins with his morning coffee.
Yup, its a relaxing afternoon and will pick up my crochet hook soon now that my tummy is happy after having some pumpkin pancakes!
Hope you enjoy whats left of the weekend. Hugs, Rhonda
