I hope your Sunday is relaxing and peaceful. A new week is coming so we need to rest up. Still waiting for rain down here, so we continue to water things by hand if we want them to survive. Dew points into the mid 70s yesterday made it so miserable. I am thankful every day for a cool home with a/c so we can escape the heat and be comfortable. Many aren't that fortunate. Oh, we picked peaches from our own tree and I made cobbler last evening that was just sinful. Even Dave liked it and he doesn't like cooked peaches. Success!
It's Friday! And I hope you are having a good one. Hoping and waiting for some rain. So far, it avoids us like the plague. Dave says there's a dome over our area and the rain just goes around us. HAHA I had to water all my porch plants earlier b/c I didn't yesterday since they said we'd get rain. NOW it will rain. It usually does that after we've watered by hand. Oh well....if it brings the raindrops, so be it. Enjoy what is left of the day and get the weekend off to a great start.
I hope you are enjoying a splendid Sunday and doing a whole lot of nothing so to rest up for the week ahead. I've been playing in the dirt. We found a set of old washtubs on sale for 50% off at our local antique shop and, since I've been wanting some for planting purposes for years, we couldn't pass them up. After bringing home the tubs, a trip to Lowe's was in order for potting soil and plants. I opted for perennials; blanket flower and ice plant. Will share a photo in my gallery later. Have a great rest of the day, whatever you are doing.
It is a steamy, sunny Friday at my house, how about at yours, Bren? I have done some household chores and we went to one of our local antique shops after I got done. Now I'm just relaxing until time to make supper. Homemade pizza. I hope your evening will be good for you as we head into our weekend. And it's going to be a relentlessly hot and humid one for me. You won't find me on the porch anytime soon!
Are you having a fabulous Friday? I sure am. This morning, before it got too steamy, we went out and picked the garden and then picked blueberries. There are tons more blueberries coming on so we just keep picking, I keep freezing them, and we will have blueberries in various forms through the year! After lunch we ran to Wally World and Lowe's. Found an outdoor bistro set I've had my eye on for weeks, marked down from $148.00 to $78.00. Needless to say, it's now on my front porch looking pretty darn cute! How is your day going? I hope you are having the happiest of hump days. My day has been quite accomplished and I love days like that....when I kick life's butt and take a few names. LOL One more load of laundry to fold and put away and then I can kick back and relax until time to make supper. It keeps looking like it wants to rain so I'm willing it to go ahead and get us wet. It's a hot and sunny day for me. Complete with humidity! We had such a great weekend. Yesterday, our girls and oldest grandson came over with a cake to surprise Dave for Father's Day. He was thrilled and we had a great afternoon together. Now it's time to start a new week again. Hope your day is good and your week ahead, too!
The weekend has arrived, Bren. And what a beautiful day it is for me. Sunshine always makes me happy. We've been to one of our favorite local antique shops earlier and then came home to do some things outside. I had started some pepper plants from seed and got those planted. There is a wonderful breeze today and so doing things outdoors is quite comfortable. How is your Saturday going? Anything special going on? I have been enjoying the out of doors for most of the day and I truly do need another cup of coffee. Flowers are blooming more and more all over the yard plus the rose bushes. What a breathtaking site to see. I so do enjoy all the four seasons and all of its beauty.
Oh my gosh, what a beautiful day in my neck of the woods! Sunny, slight breeze, low 80s! Soon as my pan of "brookies" come out of the oven, I may just do a bit of porch-sitting. Brookies, by the way, are brownies with dollops of chocolate chip cookie dough on top. Fortunately it only makes a small pan, otherwise...... How is your day going? The frog in this tag should be quite happy today: we got an inch of welcomed rain yesterday and there's more to come today! Our oldest grandson isn't as thrilled with the rain. His 17th birthday was yesterday and he was to have a pool party this afternoon but, due to the forecast for rain and storms, there will be no pool party. Tomorrow is our youngest grandson's 1st birthday and we will head over to give him his presents in the afternoon. What are your plans for the weekend, Bren? Since the sun is shining at the moment, we will get done some outdoor chores and then stay inside and watch it rain later!
