Bella is visiting for a week and Carly is so excited. They ran and ran and ran in the big backyard for over 30 minutes and were exhausted yesterday. This morning they played some inside and then Bennett came over and Bella would fetch every toy he would throw and bring it back to him.
And yes, she can jump the baby gate! She is very smart and knows to sit and lay and understands most things we say to her. We are still learning each other's routines.
Bella is a good dog with kids and other dogs. She is also very good on a leash. I worked on Friday, so we are now ready for some Football... love College football. We are also waiting on cooler weather and maybe a chance at a shower. However, we have already watered the front and the back this morning.
It is a long weekend for lots so enjoy that extra day of doing nothing on LABOR DAY.
Good day and a joyful weekend for you. Very sad days for me as I lost my beautiful wife of 65 years. She has been my life with so many happy memories. She looked so beautiful, calm and rested on her passing. So now I go on thinking and missing her........George
Good morning. It is 63°, about 10° warmer than yesterday morning. The high today will only be 1° warmer, 64°. It is raining and it is going to rain all day. Fortunately I had everything planned properly for the start of my day. I woke up at approximately 1:45 AM to go for my exercise knowing what the forecast was. However, it was raining and I thought I was not going to be able to get off to my start. I awoke a half hour later and the rain had stopped. I figured I had a window of getting my exercise completed by 4:00 AM. Everything went perfect. I did feel a couple of drops in the last mile. When I arrived back at my fortress, I decided to go on tour to the grocery store on the far side of the galaxy. There are a couple of things I like to buy only at that grocery store. As I was going out there, it started to rain again. Much to my chagrin, when I got out there, there was a sign on the door that informed this writer that pretty soon this grocery store will not be open all night as they cannot find people to work. That is too bad as I hate driving in traffic with the traffic signals operational. However, it is a new world. I have completed buying the appropriate items and returned home and taken breakfast. I actually thought about going to church later today but I have made it the last three days and I most likely will not go due to laziness. Have a good day. It is Friday for people who are gainfully employed. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Good morning. Starting off this morning with 54°. Really a pleasant morning for a walk. Difficult to be overdressed this morning. The high temperature will be 72° so it should be a pleasant day. Uncertainty on doing anything today. Yesterday I found out that some guy I worked with for a million years has died. I occasionally would stop at his house when I was riding around on my motorcycle. I believe last year he had cancer and seemingly defeated that situation with some kind of surgery. Earlier this year, he told me he was in the hospital with the sun type of leukemia. And of course he said it was a type that they could treat so that was the good news. I am skeptical about being able to treat leukemia in older people. In either case, I opened the obits yesterday and there was his picture. It makes one think of their own mortality. Of course if you want to go to heaven, there is only one way to go and that is to die. In either case, the world moves on. I made the appropriate phone call to his widow and was received by the answering machine. Hopefully she will get my message of condolence. Have a good day. By the way, to those of you who are chronicling this writer, I was able the other day to start my air conditioner for about 10 or 15 minutes and so now I'm satisfied that I have moved the freon around in the machine. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
still performing after all of these years. I was surprised he still could sing at Reagan's first inauguration and that was 1981. Of course this is Donny............ you know........... Marie's brother.
Good morning. Happy September. I am almost finished changing the pages of the calendars. Two out of three completed. 59° this morning with no humidity. A pleasant morning for my protocol. I am all ear. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
That is what we did yesterday! We went to visit our kids and filled our souls with life. Last year we got to see Nicole play Volleyball only on FaceTime as masks and social distancing were in place. Yesterday we got to see Michelle play her first volleyball game with students, parents and grandparents all in the stands cheering on both teams. It was a fast and furious and loud game.
Michelle, serving, is so tiny that they don't let her play the 3 positions at the net and gave her the #1 jersey. As a family the girls have played volleyball for years, but I don't think any of us know all the rules. We are going to try to go back on Thursday to see Nicole play.
I sure hope you are going to unexpected places to enjoy life, especially with family, because you never know what tomorrow will bring. And when we get to Lake Ray Hubbard and know that we are almost back home, our hearts are filled with love.
We went to fill the car up with gas and pick up Tacos for lunch and shared our smiles and a blessing with others today. Sure hope you share your smile with others too because so many people are hurting for their loved ones.
