Happy windy Wednesday....at least for me. The towels I hung out ought to dry in a hot minute! What are you doing today, Darlene? We've made it to midweek and I think we can coast a bit now to our weekend.
Your pretty new page reminds me of that poem: "When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple..." 💙 I hope your April Fools Day is fool-free and fun, Darlene:)
Hi Darlene. Wishing you a very happy Easter. It has come upon us so very quickly this year. It’s Easter Sunday afternoon here. Humid overcast and muggy weather created by storms in the north of our state. I don’t think we will get any rain.
I did the laundry this morning and vacuumed the carpets
Went to Church Service last evening that also included a Adult Baptism and first Communion so didn’t get back home till quite late.
I’ve not had time to visit the Hill much these past two weeks as very involved with other local activities also medical appointments etc. But will drop by as often as I can. Chat again soon. Hugs Pat.
We will be having Easter lunch with friends. I think we'll pick up chicken and sides. They are in their late 70's, so we always try to help them and bring food when we can. Today we worked in the yard. Got grass cut, trees pruned, all weeds cut. Weather was perfect, and looks like 89's for a few days. Wishing you a beautiful Easter 🌸🌸🌸
I hope this day is being good to you. It's Good Friday: a day when those of Christian faith both mourn and celebrate the crucifixion of Christ. Such an unbelieveable act of love. It is a sunny, windy day at my home with very nice temperatures. I've been outside and am heading back out again after I visit my Hill friends.
Wishing you a delightful today and upcoming Easter weekend, Darlene:) I used to decorate the diningroom table and sideboard when the kids and g'kids were little, along w/egg hunts in the yard. They're all grown; decorations have been donated to thrift stores for other kiddos to enjoy. Happy Easter, dear friend! -di
It's midway through the week and I have almost gotten all my Wednesday work done. Just waiting for the dryer to buzz so I can fold towels. No line-drying today as it's been raining. The weather people tell us it will be 80* on Easter! Good old Mother Nature keeps our wardrobe in constant circulation, doesn't she? One day it's sweaters and socks, next day it's short sleeves and flip flops. Keeps like interesting. Darlene, I found several dog food recipes that are all quite similar. Really pretty easy. I made a big batch so will go for many days.
Easter has come too soon..no big plans..I'm like you, I tend to enjoy Christmas season better. Both though are over commercialized. I usually watch church services online..local church's and some out of state. We plan on doing yard work Saturday. It's raining again now, and will linger thru Wednesday. A but cooler, but by the weekend we will see 80. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week -:)
Good morning! I have just finished making a big pan of homemade dog food. No, our dogs aren't bougie, just have sensitive stomachs. Hung out some wash and hope that it doesn't rain until things are dry. What are you doing today, Darlene? Whatever it is, I wish you a most terrific Tuesday!
Friday has arrived and I hope you have a great one, Darlene. Going to rain soon, We have gotten our outdoor things done before the rain moves in. Once it starts, it's to be a washout. Looks like a great day to crochet and read. Though not simultaneously. That would be a bit difficult.
Smile a lot today, Darlene, while tending to your tasks or enjoying a day of relaxation:) And if you're one of those lucky ones getting snow, I know you'll be smiling, smiling, smiling!-di
Hope you get over time-change soon. I made chicken rice casserole and will eat on it again tonight. It's one of our favs. But now... off to get a shower. Sleep well, dear Darlene. *hugs*
The weekend is here. And it is absolutely stunning weather at my house today. Sunny and almost 70* at the moment. I've hung out wash and cut back some vines and done my chicken chores. Looks like I'll have some porch time later. Today needs to be cloned and, if you know how to do so, it'd be much appreciated. Darlene, I agree about the time change. Just leave it the way nature intended and stop doing silly things to make the day "longer". How foolish.
Merry Monday and new week! Did you miss that hour's sleep? Tomorrow, 31yrs ago, our blizzard began. We were under 2' of snow and no power for 1 week. We were pioneers and settlers, hauling woods, storing foods in snow banks, in 9º weather for all those hours. I kept a diary of the 'hundred year storm", and thunder snow:) I bet you did the same that year, Darlene. *hugs* -di
It's an open-window kind of day here and I'm letting in fresh air and letting out stale! 70* and about perfect, in my opinion. How is your day going and what are you up to? Hope you're having a good one. Darlene, squirrels are definitely guilty of digging up flower bulbs and moving them where they see fit. I had a patch of crocuses come up by a tree that I KNOW I didn't put there. And those darn squirrels have dug up almost all of my hyacinth bulbs! I have tulips planted in pots with wire mesh over top to keep the squirrels out because they have ripped out every single bulb I've ever planted in the ground. They sure a cute but so destructive.
Happy Taco Day, Darlene. Back from blooddraw and eating breakfast out. To rain all day, it appears. Ornamental trees are bursting open, and this whole week will provide them with ample rain. I doubt we're still in a drought zone, finally... yay! Stay well & dry:)
I have no answers re: daffies growing all over the place. lol They are the first here to make an appearance in late winter. Maybe that's a harbinger of spring for some. I have wondered about our surprise lilies' ability to spring up in different places each year. I'm assuming they're a bulb plant, but don't know. They were already in the ground here when we moved in 50yrs ago, and I'm always so glad to see them return, I wouldn't dare dig one up... such an unusual and brilliantly-colored plant. So glad we're friends, Darlene:) *hugs*
Daffies are everywhere. They were Mom's special ones... mine are daisies, plain and inobtrusive. Do you have a favorite? The wind has gone, but it did help dry out the ground a bit. What "frog-stranglers" we had. Have a nice Sunday, Dear Darlene. *hugs*
A busy day..just now sitting down so to catch up online. We got over an inch 1/2 of rain yesterday. Sunshine returned today..will see 72 on Monday. I still believe we will see much colder weather by end of the month. Not giving up yet on snow.
