Yes, we have pecan trees here. In fact I have 3 trees in my yard. My dad planted them. They don't produce pecans any more thouigh. Oh my, I used to pick up so many it was unreal, my dad sold them and I did too, after I bought the home place. The trees got a fungus on them, and my neighbors trees did too. They produced for around 40 yrs. and they still get pecans on them, but the fungus causes the Pecans to fall off early and don't fill out. The inside will be rotten. The fungus cames from the high humidity level we have, and trees are to big to spray and kill the fungus. At this point in my life and age, I couldn't bend over that much to pick them all up. They do make good shade trees to sit under in the summer. You can buy the nuts in our grocery stores.
At church this morning, our choir had their Christmas Contata. Beautiful music. Also all the Christmas decoration were put up too.Very pretty with all the lights and Christmas Tree.
Sure hope your finger will heal soon.
It's been a very dreary Sunday and yesterday too. Cloudy, and light mist rain. Today was just heavy sweater day, but our temperatures are suppose to start falling again, and back down below freezing at night. It's going to be a long winter for me, because I don't care much for Winter weather.
Hope you will have a great Christmas Holiday my friend. I'm glad your out of the deep freeze area and now in a little warmer climate.
Thanks for coming by and leaving the message for me. I would be more than happy to give you some pecan pie, if I could. I called my grand-son this evening to ask if the pie was good and everyone liked it and he told me, yes they did. Do you have Pecan trees there? You would like pecan pie. It's really sweet. The ingredients are: small amout of butter, vanilla flavoring, eggs, sugar, and dark syrup, and chopped pecans.
Your going to have a hard time knitting a cap with a sore finger. I don't knit any more. I used to knit all the time, but I mostly just lost interest in it, after I got my 1st computer. I still want give up all my knitting needles though. I've got every size there is. Sure would be super expensive to buy now. With a mashed finger it will take a good while to get over the soreness.

Thanks for stopping by, dear Sonjia!
So good of you to bake that pecan pie! I would have loved to taste it ... I've never had pecan pie, it's not that common here even if it isn't totally unknown.
Everything went well with the family dinner. Olov and Viktoria helped me ... well, so did Sune, their eldest (9 years old). And they loved the food, but they eat almost anything. Even the kids are taught to eat whatever they are served.
I clasped my finger in the car door yesterday when I wanted to shut it putting a cover on the windscreen not to have a lot of ice on it this morning. So now everything is much harder to do. And I have sent for yarn to knit a little reflective hat for Isak (youngest grandson) so that will be a bit painful. Well ... it's my own fault so ...

Didn't do anything at Thanksgiving no cooking at all. I did make a pecan pie for my grandson, he's a policeman and had to work that day. So the one's working took something to work for a meal of their own. My grand called me and ask me if I would bake him the pecan pie to take, and I did it for him.
Hope you had a great day today, with your son and your grands there for your birthday.

Hello dear Sonjia,
I hope you'll have a great Thanksgiving! As you know we don't celebrate it here. But I'll have Olov's family here on Saturday to celebrate my birthday (that was on Tuesday) with dinner. They are always so busy and couldn't come in the middle of the week.
We're having colder weather now ... more like a normal autumn with winter around the corner. I'm happy it won't be as long and cold as up in Kalix.
