Well, the Christmas decorations have been packed up and I've got winter items out instead. Snowmen, snowflakes, bears, birds, penguins, etc. Plus I snuck in some Valentine colors and items while I was at it. This keeps the house from looking bare and drab after seeing all of the pretty Christmas stuff for a month.
As to real animals...you asked if the raccoons had come back. I'm sure they have, though I have tried very hard not to put food out late in the day so it's there at night to draw them. Sorry you had a raccoon or raccoons chew wiring under your house. They are not good to have around and can be quite destructive, as you found out. The deer are still coming around and I still feed them apple slices. Some come right up to me, others are not yet certain I mean them no harm and it's okay to take the apple slices from my hand. But at least they get close so I don't have to toss the slices very far. I have a lousy aim, so being close is good for all of us. Plus, apple slices often take weird bounces once they hit the ground. I never know where they will end up.
Christmas was quiet here. Dennis (my hubby) cooked a prime rib roast and that's what we stuffed ourselves with. Didn't exchange gifts this year, which is a first. I'm okay with that, as we all have plenty of "stuff" and don't need more.
Other than that, it's been pretty quiet and uneventful. Which is great, as that's the way I like it. Best wishes for you and yours to have a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2020 and beyond!
