Golden August celebrated on my mini pine. Finally got my back shots; the doc hit a nerve this time & it felt like I had been tased! I have to take it easy for 3 days & then--oh joy (not really!) I can start doing some light housekeeping.😉
My goodness the morning is now in the past and the afternoon is now here for me to enjoy as I wish. For some reason I am in a fall mood so I put some pumpkin spice creamer in my coffee for the fun of f it. Ever so smooth and tasty. Looking forward to cooler temps. May you have a pleasant week counting all ones blessings from above. Smiles Gloria
If we try to see something positive in everything we do, life won't necessarily become easier but it becomes more valuable. ~Author unknown
The beautiful month of August is now here with all of its surprises and wonders that this month will bring us.
We are receiving some wanted rain showers today and tomorrow. Maybe I will go out and splash in afew puddles for the fun of it. May you have a glorious day what ever you will be doing and will do the same here in my neck of the woods. Smiles Gloria
When life throws you a rainy day, play in the puddles! ~Author unknown
My goodness this day just started and it is now going into the afternoon. The Laundry is done and went to the store for groceries. Now it is time to have a nice cup of coffee as I sit back and find that book that I am reading. May you have a peaceful week enjoying your moments . Smiles Gloria
I love old poems, ladies who lived in past times. Life was maybe not easier, but people took time to idle sometime, and mostly they took time admiring a sunrise, the flowers opening their hearts, etc. ~Marie-Ancolie Romanet #oldsoul
Hiding up in my bedroom with the dog while a new hot water tank is put in. Just replaced A/C, now this. The tank was 23 yrs old--glad we saved for a rainy day!🐡
A strong storm blew thru Wonderland on Weds and resulted in many power outages (not me thanks goodness). My back pain shot, scheduled for Thurs, was postponed til Aug 8 because the office was without power. Such is life . . . 🐰
Mattel has released many Alice In Wonderland Barbie dolls through the years:
I haven't been to a movie theater since 2016, so I won't be going to the Barbie film, but I'm glad to see films making big premieres again. I do love 'Old Hollywood' though the studio system was harsh on stars. 🌟
May your Monday day be ever so nice to you as your doing your daily duties. We are abit cool up north for we just might make it to 70 for the temp sometime today. Cant believe that July is half over already and it just started. Enjoying all the moments of summer as the late summer flowers are now starting to bloom in the flower beds. Smiles Gloria
Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you — not because they are nice, but because you are. ~Author unknown
Happy Monday to you! Sharing some outside & inside summer green. Need a bit of sunshine after all the rain. Amazing what one can do with some window boxes; got some grape tomatoes, basil, cinnamon basil, sage, curly parsley, oregano, thyme, strawberry mint . . .🪴
Merry Mid-week to you! Here in Wonderland outside temps have cooled to 73 so having no A/C is not a problem. Installers due tomorrow. Myself & the dog will head over to friend's house to get through the day while the hubby deals with things. 🌬️
Hi new week! For me, gotta make it til Thursday without A/C. While the days are in the 80s, the nights will be in the 60s; I think I can make it using fans! Empathy with all experiencing truly high temps.🍧
How is your weekend?! My A/C condenser unit is 26 yrs old and needs replacing. Going on day 3 of no air. Can't complain too much as the temps so far aren't too bad. Fans going, cool baths and ice cream eating!🍦
May your day be ever so nice to you as you do your daily duties of the day and take some time off to enjoy the moments of the day with a fresh cup of coffee and or tea. We are having very cool temps this week so a nice hot cup of coffee sounds delicious to me right at the moment. Smiles Gloria
Never ask, "What reason do I have to be happy?" Instead ask, "To what purpose can I attach my happiness?" ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com
I would love to have it rain 'round here, but our forecast is dry as a bone for the long-range (15 days) and probably beyond that. Summer has definitely arrived and it's heating up, with the holiday to come soaring into the 90's. Makes it a little scary, you know? I am hoping people will use common sense and not start any fires. Speaking of which, are you still needing to cope with the smoke from the Canadian wildfires? I've seen photos of some places and it's really thick, which must make going anyplace difficult. I posted a bulletin about a couple of ways to scrub the smoke out of indoor air and I hope it helps anyone who may not have known about the furnace filter/box fan combo. I know it really helped us when the Eagle Creek fire was roaring up and down the Gorge where we live. Man, that was scary times that I'd rather not have happen again!
Your mother and that appliance salesman were absolutely right in passing along the information that the more 'bells and whistles' an appliance has, the more chances there are for things to do wrong with it. Keep it simple and it may last you for a much longer time, even if you don't get all of those "new" features. Like on refrigerators where they have a screen that tells you what's in your fridge...gee whiz, whatever happened to just opening the door and LOOKING...? Yeah, sometimes they go pretty far overboard with some of their designs, I think.
You had asked if I am taking any medication for the TGA spells/episodes I get. Nope. There isn't anything that prevents this, as far as the medical community knows. My doc did recommend that both my husband and I take one low-dose aspirin a day as a preventative for strokes and heart attacks (to prevent clots). The ER doc wanted me to go on a Statin drug, but my regular doc says my cholesterol is very good and I don't need to be on them. (YAY!) Until they figure out what causes TGA's, I am stuck just living my life and hoping I don't have another episode. Our daughter suggested that I should write up an index card that tells me to relax, that I am having an episode of TGA and my short term memory isn't working right now, but this will pass in a few hours and I'll be just fine. Something my hubby can have me read--probably over and over again--so he doesn't have to answer the same questions from me a gazillion times while waiting for my head to get back to a more normal state. I think that's a good idea, so I'll write something up and let my hubby know where it is...just in case it's ever needed.
I thank you so much for the sweet birthday wishes! My birthday is in September, so you've definitely gotten to be the first one to celebrate the day!
I have no real idea why, but my hubby has lately been watching the DUMBEST things on TV...I think he is amused by how truly dumb they are. Horrible acting, non-existent budgets so the "special effects" are definitely not special, but hokey and fake. I'd rather spend my time watching something good, but to each their own, huh? We have recently gotten a hanger for our flat screen TV and my son and hubby have installed it on our living room bookcase and put all the electronics tied into the TV onto the bookshelf unit, too. I am getting rid of my old records and record cabinet and we've gotten rid of the ugly black cabinet that used to house all the electronic stuff. Trying to declutter the house and get rid of stuff that we no longer use or enjoy. Our next trip to Goodwill is going to be a doozy, but it's so nice to free up space, isn't it?
It's time to go start up my washing machine and get dressed for the day. Oh, I wanted to let you know I really like your page--very exotic background and the spangly border really compliments it nicely! Have a great weekend and keep it cool (and smoke-free, I hope!!) this summer!
