A pastor had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard, and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down. The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and drove away so that the tree bent down, he could then reach up and grasp the kitten.
He did all this, kept getting out to check, then figured if he went just a little bit farther, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten. But as he moved a little farther forward... the rope broke.
The tree went *Boing!* and the kitten instantly sailed through the air- out of sight. The pastor felt very bad. He walked all over the neighborhood, asking people if they'd seen a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen a kitten. So he prayed, "Lord, I just commit this kitten to Your keeping," and went on about his business.
A few days later, he was at the grocery store, and he met Melissa Jefferson, one of his church members. He happened to look into her shopping cart, and he was amazed to see cat food. Knowing she hated cats, he asked her, "Why are you buying cat food when you hate cats so much?" She replied, "You won't believe this," and told him how her little girl Meghan had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing. Then a few days before, the girl had begged again, and so the Mom finally told her little girl, "Well, if God gives you a cat from heaven, I'll let you keep it."
You can guess the rest. She told the pastor, "I watched my little girl go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a kitty cat. And really, Pastor, you won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws spread out, and landed right in front of her.
What a pretty Thursday it has been here. Sunny and cool. Been a full, busy day and I feel like I've accomplished even more than I set out to do. Don't have to cook tonight since we have ordered wings from Wing Stop that Dave will go pick up in a couple hours. Sure hope you've had a great day and that your evening will be relaxing!
While we were on our anniversary cruise, Geralyn and I enjoyed strolling through the shops in downtown Cozumel, Mexico and then listening to a talented street performer play.
When John and I disembarked from our cruise ship, we were told that the seas were too choppy for a small boat to take us to a nearby beach which was what we selected for our shore excursion. Other than strong winds, the day was sunny and beautiful. So, we decided we would explore the city of Cozumel. We've been to Cozumel about 4 times but we always enjoy strolling through the city. Love and hugs, Ger
John and I spent the day at La Bamba Beach in Costa Maya, Mexico. We enjoyed lounging under some wonderful palm trees. We had a few drinks and enjoyed the refreshing ocean water.
Welcome to Wednesday! And I think for most of us, it's a mighty chilly day! The sun is shining here which makes it feel warmer even if it's just an illusion of warmth! I've done some household chores and need to mix up a cucumber salad for our supper later and, much to Dave's dismay, I have some furniture rearranging to get to. Don't you know he is thrilled? LOL He is used to my shenanigans by now, honestly. Enjoy your day, whatever you may be up to.
It is a drippy, dreary Tuesday here. Going to be getting much colder the next couple of days. Remind me exactly why I didn't hibernate after Christmas? LOL In spite of the weather, I'm having a great day and hope the same for you!
My level of merriment is not quite like these cute little mice yet but it will come. HAHA At least it's a sunny Monday here. Sunshine always makes me happier. Hope you had a great weekend and are ready for whatever this week may bring.
