Wishing us both an uplifting Thanksgiving weekend.. We don't cook anymore.. Going out to eat dinner at Cracker Barrel.. Let them deal with the mess :) The food always tastes better when I'm being waited on.. lol.. They always serve a nice Thanksgiving meal, complete with sweet potato casserole with pecans baked into it.. I'm gonna get one of those fancy Latte coffees too with whipped cream squirted on top.. Yum!!
After New Years, little by litttle we'll start creeping right back into the doldrums of summer.. I hate to think about it so I try to put it out of my mind.. I want to go to Applebees because they have those special mixed drinks made up for Christmas now.. They did have the Halloween drinks made, but that's over.. Now I'm going after the Christmas drinks, which will be made through New Years.. Everything will feel so festive in the restaurant.. They even have Christmas lights strung and a small tree in the corner as you walk in..
Next Thursday is Thanksgiving already.. Time is going by like a shot in the dark.. Next it will be Christmas racing by like it never happened.. And then all my favorite times of the year will be over.. The only time I feel festive is during my favorite ocassions - October, November and December.. Then what - nothing left in my opinion.. *x hugs x* Darlene
Hello Ric from a stormy humid afternoon in South Australia. Thunder & lightening for the past hour or so and we’ve even had a few good showers of rain. Such a lovely fresh smell in the air now. A few rumbles can still be heard in the distance but I think this lot has passed. Poor little fur babies are upset but beginning to settle down a little now.
So glad you got a good report from your visit to the Dr. Nice to have that out the way for a few months.
Yes, having a faster speed makes such a lot of difference and as you say there is very little difference in the cost. Do you have the Landline phone included with the internet? I do plus “Fetch Box” where I can stream all different programme’s.
Any signs of winter your way yet? My experience over the years that the seasons go in cycles. Usually several dry followed by the wet and cold ones. It’s the humidity that’s hard to take.
I didn’t go to Scrabble today as I saw a Specialist on Saturday re my extreme BP. Have new medication that’s very strong along with the old so while that is taking effect I’m taking it quietly at home for a few days. Have you anything special planned for the day? Whatever you do enjoy yourself. Pat.
Hello Ric. Well, the Adelaide Xmas Pageant was held yesterday and that heralds the beginning of the Xmas festivities. Now it will be all go as decorations begin to go up and people prepare for the holiday season. The children start counting down the days. I spent this morning watering the back garden and that should keep it happy for a week. After that had some lunch then washed and cleaned the car. Now I’m back indoors enjoying a hot mug of latte.
A pleasant 24ºc/75ºf today but heading to mid 80’s tomorrow. That’s OK so long as it’s a clear heat. I had the little fur babies bathed and trimmed last Thursday. Now they are both ready for the warmer temps. Enjoy your day and the new week. Pat.
Hi Ric. It’s amazing how these little creatures like the squirrels and birds soon learn who to trust and what ones to stay away from and obviously they trust you to come visiting each day. I guess there is always a bossy one in each group to try and grab all the food. I wonder how many other homes they visit during the day and what distance they travel. Do you ever see any little squirrels that have ventured onto the streets and get hit by vehicles? especially at night if the headlights effect them.
I haven’t been home long from attending our Scrabble group. Two new players today. The group is popular and continues to grow. Fortunately it’s held in a church Hall that can accomadate us all. Went to a friends 100th birthday celebration yesterday. Had a lovely afternoon. There were 3 women attending who are 100 and over. All living at home with family support and a little outside help.Amazing ladies indeed. Warming up here today with temps in the mid 80’s. Time to pack away the winter gear and see if the summer ones still fit. Enjoy your new week.Take care. Pat
Did you want to change that game 'What is your favorite'? I think we might be running out of things to ask.. There are other question, but they don't really apply to us.. What do you think?
Is suppose to rain later on tonight and turn cooler.. I like to hear the rain coming down.. Makes me feel cozy.. lol.. I love this time of month and looking at all the decorations.. Do you get any trick-or-treaters at your house? You live in a neighborhood, so you should have someone coming around.. We use to get kids come around when we lived in town, but ever since we moved out of town, no one bothers.. It's too far out..
We have ghosts hanging in the trees, pathway marker yard stakes of little pumpkin heads that light up, plus I have a big plastic pumpkin and ghost that light up.. I like to see the sheets of the hanging ghosts fly in the breeze at night and to see the eerie glow of orange lights.. This is such a neat time of year.. When October got here when I was a kid, I couldn't wait to go door to door to see how much candy I could get in my bag..
