There have been so many changes to The Hill while I've been away.

Music is gone, photos don't show... it's frustrating and I really don't know where to start to rebuild my page again. Perhaps I won't. What a shame.

I've made so many wonderful friends on "The Hill" but unfortunately life gets in the way of my time here. I've had several major surgeries and so has my husband - all a part of aging I guess.

I am blessed with two amazing sons and three perfect grandchildren - all boys. Unfortunately 2 live in Texas now and I really miss them but one lives here in town so I am lucky to be able to babysit at times and those are the most precious times of my days.

LIVE YOUR LIFE IN SUCH A WAY THAT WHEN YOUR FEET HIT THE FLOOR IN THE MORNING, SATAN SHUDDERS AND SAYS….“OH S**T…. SHE’S AWAKE!!!!”

Christmas 2016

I thank you for being my friend on "The Hill" and for stopping by periodically to say hello. I'm so busy with my volunteer work with Crown Jewels of Canada Society and my family that I've little time these days for the hill and miss my many friends here.

We spent the early part of December with all of our family in the Cayman Islands and it was wonderful. I spent most of my time in my bathing suit with our grandchildren. What fun and what wonderful memories!

Since my return I've been down and out with bronchitis so just starting to feel a wee bit better at last so it was a quiet Christmas for us.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL !!
Wishing you good health and much happiness.
Lynda

I have been fortunate to travel quite a bit and I try to keep a blog but when away it's not always easy to get internet... Some day I'll post some photos.

My contact person is "BC Sugar" who is now a "real life" friend as well as a NOTH friend. She's also a "Jewel" (member of the Crown Jewels of Canada Society) and we've attended some of the same conventions.

If it weren't for The Hill, we'd never have met!

CROWN JEWELS OF CANADA SOCIETY

Although I was active in the Red Hat Society for several years I have now gone in a new direction and am a proud member of the CROWN JEWELS OF CANADA SOCIETY. www.crownjewelsofcanada.com

Unfortunately, as I paid for a lifetime membership on the Hill, I can't change my ID

Why wear a hat when you can wear Diamonds? Are they not a girl's best friend? (Men have dogs!)

I grew up in Ontario (Canada)and have traveled to every province and state and in total over 60 countries.
I love both travel and photography - and dogs, cats & kids and friends!
I've lived in the 'burbs of New York City (Westchester); S. Londonderry,Vermont; Newport, Rhode Island, Naples, Florida & Phoenix, Arizona, as well as Toronto, Ontario. Presently I live in western Canada...home of the Rocky Mountains and spectacular scenery.

I am "supposedly" retired but work pretty much full time as a volunteer as the President & CEO of the Crown Jewels of Canada Society, a national non-profit for women.

For me - this says it all:

Wander-Thirst

ALL the credit for this masterpiece goes to Gerald Gould

Beyond the east the sunrise; Beyond the west the sea
And East and West the Wander-Thirst that will not let me be;
It works in me like madness to bid me say goodbye,
For the seas call, and the stars call, and oh! The call of the sky!

I know not where the white road runs, nor what the blue hills are,
But a man can have the sun for friend, and for his guide, a star;
And there’s no end to voyaging when once the voice is heard,
For the rivers call, and the road calls, and oh! The call of a bird!

Yonder the long horizon lies, and there by night and day
The old ships draw to home again, the young ships sail away
And come I may, but go I must, and if men ask you why,
You may put the blame on the stars and the sun,
And the white road and the sky.

I love to travel!

This year has been a quiet one due to my health.
I did manage a cruise in February with the Crown Jewels to the Western Caribbean but was sick and spent three days of the cruise in the ships hospital and was on clear fluids the remainder of the cruise so - I lost 5 lbs while on the cruise!

Last year we went to S. America & Antarctica and then I went with a group of "Jewels" on a Mexican cruise.
My husband and I did a unique cruise on the eastern part of the USA and Caribbean in April then visited friends in Nassau. Didn't stay home long before heading off to Vancouver Island with a friend for a week.
We joined our youngest son and his bride on a part of their honeymoon. We all met in Venice for a few days followed by a 12-day cruise.
We continue to spend most of our winters in Arizona but this year was a cool one for sure.
Last year at this time we were off to Hawaii with our other son and his family.
LIFE IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL! We could be dead tomorrow so will try to squeeze it all in today!

Below are a few photos from a trip to Europe and our river cruise from Paris to Budapest. I write a blog (with photos) when I travel and if you're interested in reading it, contact me and I'll give you the link.

Watching family and friends suffer through rough times... be it health-wise or financially.
We all want only the best for our loved ones.
I wish all of my friends good health and much happiness - always!

Nothing is more precious than family and friends!

My heart goes out to all who have this past year suffered from floods, fires, tornadoes and medical issues. May the future be an improvement for all.
