Life is changing more rapidly
Posted On 02/17/2021 21:47:24

Today is a changing of lifestyle day to me, it's been coming on for some time but reality is really setting in now.  My health has been declining slowly in this "avoiding Covid" atmosphere of staying in the home and only having gone out twice this past year for lab tests for multiple doctors and this weekend, our eldest dtr. took me out to a grocery store to see what it's like having been gone for over a year now.  I made it through the first aisle and at the length of the next (which seems to have grown longer than I've ever remembered it) I was OVERWHELMED by all the people and products and though everyone was very nice and patient, it struck me uncomfortably and I sat with the patients at the Pharmacy who were waiting for their covid shots and had little chats until our dtr. finished and we went home...my husband is quite ill now, Stage 4 kidney disease as well as inoperable heart disease, and has slowed greatly.  We're 84 now and feeling our age for the first real time.  I do enjoy getting notices of Hello from NOTH people and apologize for not writing or returning messages.  Life is changing and with strength declining, I'm not so good at writing, but I appreciate the time you take to write me. Be Well.

62 years of marriage....etc etc etc
Posted On 11/09/2019 12:40:51

November 9th - 62 years of marriage - met in high school - I trained in X-ray, transcribing medical reports, ultrasound and nuclear med tech - 2 daughters - worked 25 full time years in X-ray and kept books for hubby's business, drove 2 dtrs to baby sitter (whom they LOVED - she had lots of animals)  did my own housework, occasionally met with friends in same lifestyle - moved from town hubby & I were born in (same hospital - 24 days apart = cared for mentally ill mother with constant hospitalizations - eldest of 4 children (one sister died in infancy, one brother died of probable brain aneurysm ) - mother died at 5 months short of 100th birthday-father of Alzheimer's.  Moved from southern CT - 30 mi. from 9-11-00  to eastern shore CT then to FL to be with daughters. I miss the Autumn colors of the North and the closeness of neighbors, seeing everyone's children growing up together for 42 years on same street, change of Seasons...dislike the Humidity and Heat of FL but nearing "end of days" need to be near family to make decisions for both of us. Hubby had massive heart attack 2 years ago - condition was too poor to operate, so he has stents.  Much changed from an active life of Car Repairs at the end of his career he began planning the home in N.E. CT - 10 acres of land...too much to take care of now for both so we have a "ranch" home in a subdivision with a pool that long time friends from Englad get good use of when they visit twice a year for 4-6 weeks.  But we're all getting older and more limited.  I'm happy to have had this group for so many years - so many nice pple to get to know and hope we'll keep in touch for a long time.  We're "retired" but busy working on selling our Northern Home, taking care of probably the last of our lifetime of rescued "pets" of all kinds and cutting down Doctor & Med visits as much as possible, taking life easier!and praying that our 'puters and brains-fingers keep working!!!

GOOD DAYS OF COUNTRY MUSIC
Posted On 07/16/2019 15:31:40

i'M A LONG-TIME FAN OF COUNTRY MUSIC, SINCE HIGH SCHOOL, REALLY, JUST BEFORE ELVIS CAME ON THE SCENE, BUT I STUCK WITH MY "COUNTRY"..

SO, THESE DAYS, NO LONGER ABLE TO TRAVEL TO LIVE CONCERTS, I BIT THE BULLET AND JOINED FACEBOOK & A BIT OF YOU TUBE TO CATCH UP ON MY FAVORITES;  WELL, A FEW BUMPS AND BRUISES LATER (NORMAL FOR MY TRIPS TO COMPUTERLAND) I WAS TREATED TO SOME GREAT CATCH-UP VIDEOS OF PAST AND PRESENT COUNTRY, OLD AND 'NEW" AS I FOUND WONDERFUL VIDEOES OF ALABAMA, A BAND I HAD SEEN WHEN WE LIVED IN CONNECTICUT AND GOT LOST GOING TO LONG ISLAND FOR THE CONCERT - BUT THAT WAS ABOUT 1980 AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM - TODAY, THEY'RE STILL DOING CONCERTS, THEIR 50TH YEAR TRAVELING AND THOUGH MY SISTER & BIL GOT TO SEE THEM IN BRISTOL, I COULDN'T MAKE IT, SAD TO SAY, BUT IN SPITE OF THEIR CANCER AND PARKINSON DISEASES, THEY'RE STILL GOING AND SINGING WHAT ARE NOW "THEIR GOOD OLD SONGS" AND IT'S A TREAT ALL OVER AGAIN TO HEAR THAT THEY'RE STILL AROUND WHILE I LISTEN TO MY CD'S AND PICTURE US ALL AS YOUNG PEOPLE...AND THEY SHOW  MANY PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF WILLIE, MERLE, JOHNNY, AND THE HIGHWAYMEN, ALAN JACKSON, GEORGE JONES AND SO MANY OF MY FAVORITES THROUGH THE YEARS.  I'VE BOOKMARKED SOME OF THE VIDEOS IN HOPES OF REPLAYING THEM AND GOD WILLING, I WILL HAVE DONE IT CORRECTLY!  SO I CAN SEE THEM AT ALL TIMES - GOOD TO SEE ALSO WHAT JOY THESE PEOPLE HAVE SPREAD THROUGHOUT THEIR CAREERS WHEN THEY HAVE RAISED MONEY FOR ST. JUDE'S AND OTHER CHARITIES, OPEN THEIR HOMES TO FANS AND VISITORS, ADOPT AND CARE FOR WILD AND "ALMOST EUTHANIZED" HORSES, ETC.  SO MUCH GOOD DONE IN THE WORLD BY SOME PEOPLE WHO LIVED THRU ADDICTIONS AND TROUBLES OF ALL KINDS AND NOW TO SEE THEY ARE RECOVERED AND GIVING WHAT THEY'VE RECEIVED.  LONG BLOG BUT I SURE ENJOY VISITING THE GOOD OLD DAYS"

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, I WOULD LIKE TO POST A VIDEO OR PICS OF COUNTRY MUSICIANS, BUT I HAVE TO WARN YOU, I NEED LOTS OF HELP!
