Rude Comments a NO NO
Posted On 07/09/2008 22:23:27

It has been brought to my attention that some people that carry the Christan name have been leaving not so nice comments to some people on the hill that have different beliefs than they do. If you are guilty of these things, I pray that you examine yourselves. Spend time with Jesus and he will they you what is wrong with you. One thing for sure, Jesus is love and kindness...Do nasty comments and rude words sound like love and kindness....I think not. You cannot judge people....God is the judge. You judge someone, you are going to be judged in the manner. If you see someone doing something that you do not agree with, pray for them, not harass them. Maybe you should request prayer for yourselves because what you have done is not Christlike. He is not happy with your actions. The Christian way is to repent and then go back to the ones you have harassed and ask them for forgiveness also. Thank you for letting me vent....because this type of behavior is wrong and childess.

You may not like what I have written but I think it needed to be done. Check yourself before you judge someone else. ......Sharon

Walking In His Light
Posted On 07/07/2008 09:17:44

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. Matthew 6:22 (KJV)

Many of you live in a place where you have streetlights that come on after dark, but have you ever noticed what happens in a power failure? The light of the moon becomes so bright in comparison. Where before you thought that the light you were seeing was bright, you realize that the moonlight was dimmed by the streetlights.

So many times the Lord is there for you, but the light you are looking at dims the truth, and you don’t see that He is there and that He cares. Maybe you think you have to work hard and get Him to bless you. Do you know that moonlight is just the sun’s reflected light? In the same way, the Lord wants you to realize that He is with you all the time, and that His blessing is available to you if you desire it. And in order to do that you have to take your eyes off what the world says.

Sometimes it takes a dramatic situation like having the power go out for you to realize it, but today you can make a choice, to take your eyes off of your situation, off of what other people say, and stand upon the Word. And your eyes will be opened to how much He loves you, and how much you have in Christ.

Then it doesn’t matter what street you live on, and if the power is on or off but His light touches you wherever you are.

So today just desire in your heart, to see things how the Lord sees them. To look at the mountains in your life in the light of His promises. That is how hope and faith is birthed in you. And when you add love, no problem that is before you can stand.

So next time you have a problem, instead of complaining about how dim your prospects seem, cast you eyes and your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you, because He sees you as the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, and if that is how He sees you, then who are you to disagree? Only stand on His Word and walk in His light.

A Thought To Ponder
Posted On 07/01/2008 08:25:21

Malachi 3:3 - And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. (KJV)

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what
this statement meant about the character and nature of God. at their
next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made
an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything
about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the
process of refining Silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a
piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that
in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of
the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the
impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot
spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as
a refiner and purifier of silver."

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in
front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.
The man answered yes, he not only had to sit there holding the
silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it
was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the
flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment.
Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is
fully refined?"
He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my
image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has
his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in
you.

"Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only
spend it once."

Within Every Soul There Is A Rose
Posted On 06/26/2008 01:14:18
A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully,
and before it blossomed, he examined it.
He saw the bud that would soon blossom and also the thorns.
And he thought, "How can any beautiful flower
come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?"
Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose,
and before it was ready to bloom, it died.
So it is with many people.
Within every soul there is a rose.
The God-like qualities planted in us at birth
grow amid the thorns of our faults.
Many of us look at ourselves
and see only the thorns and the defects.
We despair, thinking that nothing good
can possibly come from us.
We neglect to water the good within us,
and eventually it dies.
We never realize our potential.
Some people do not see the rose within themselves;
someone else must show it to them.
One of the greatest gifts a person can possess
is to be able to reach past the thorns
and find the rose within others.
This is the characteristic of love,
to look at a person, and knowing his faults,
recognize the nobility in his soul,
and help him realize that he can
overcome his faults.
If we show him the rose,
he will conquer the thorns.
Then will he blossom, blooming forth thirty,
sixty, a hundred-fold as it is given to him.
Our duty in this world is to help others
by showing them their roses and
not their thorns.
Only then can we achieve the love
we should feel for each other;
only then can we bloom in our own garden.

Treasured Possession
Posted On 06/24/2008 11:23:20

Psalms 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. (KJV)

Technology today produces many amazing inventions! Just take a moment to surf the internet and look up new inventions and gadgets. There are all sort of variations on cell phones with fancy features. Taking photos with your cell phone is no longer considered unusual. Everyone is in the big race to create something new and different. Robots…fancy home appliances…slimmer, smaller, faster computers.

There is something within people that love new inventions, and especially something that is original! One thing I saw that looked “awesome” was a world globe that is suspended in the air, using the forces of magnets. So it looks like it is not being held. Something even more “amazing” that I read was they have succeeded in creating the first holographic videos using laser optics and crystals!

WOW!  What a marvel! What a wonder! It just causes you to draw your breath in amazement doesn’t it?

Everybody wants to talk about these things, look at them and experience them.

Have you ever stopped to ponder how the Lord looks upon you? What does He think of you? You are His creation after all.

If we marvel over lifeless things and objects like computers and robots, have you considered how much the Lord marvels and draws breath when He looks upon you?

Just as I drew breath when I thought on the awesome technological inventions of today, the Lord spoke straight to my heart. He draws breath over us! We are so special to Him. The scripture says we are His treasured possession and the apple of His eye.

Treasured possessions are something very close to your heart. Something you watch over and go to great lengths to protect. Something that brings you great joy and pleasure. Something that is extremely valuable and of great worth!

You are fearfully and wonderfully made! You are more awesome than any invention that will ever be created. And there is someone whose heart is stirred with Love every time He thinks of you. His thoughts towards you are more than all the grains of sand on the seashore. That’s a lot of thoughts isn’t it? And all those thoughts are good thoughts. Thoughts of love, and goodness and blessings. Thoughts of great joy.

Turn to Jesus today. He’s standing right beside you with His arms open wide. He wants to sweep you up in His arms and hold you close to His heart! He wants to tell you how much He loves you. He wants you to know how very special and awesome you are to Him. Even if you feel nobody on the whole earth cares about you right now, I want you to know, you are a treasure! A very special treasure! And the Lord Jesus wants to hold you close and pour upon you all the love and blessings you ever desired!

Thank you Jesus. Just pour out your love upon the one reading this right now. Let your deep love fill their hearts and remove the ache of loneliness. Holy Spirit let your comfort rise up within them, and give them hope once more. Lift their eyes to see you! Give them a revelation of how awesome they are to you! Let them see what a treasure you have placed within them. Let them see that though they may feel insignificant and small, that in you, they are mighty. They are kings and queens upon this earth! They belong to you, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords! Your name is the highest name, in heaven and earth, and they wear that name too, because they are covenant with you.

Bless your child today Lord Jesus. Lift them up to sit with you on your throne. Let the mountains shrink before them, let the storms abate. And let the power of your resurrection flood through them, and lift them to a new place of living and moving, and walking hand in hand with you! Hallelujah. Thank you for it Lord.

Go forth today with your head held high, and your heart rejoicing – because you are the treasured possession of the Lord Jesus. You are valuable, and you have an important place in His Body, in His Kingdom, and above all, in His heart!

The Law of the Garbage Truck
Posted On 06/22/2008 13:22:30

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you.&n! bsp; Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...'Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't, that they see the wisdom of their foolish ways' Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Scripture Proverbs 1:1-6  KJV

1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

They will teach you how to be wise and self-controlled and will teach you to do what is honest and fair and right.

Prayer:

Lord, help me never let the garbage trucks take over my day. Amen.

The Blood of Jesus
Posted On 06/10/2008 14:54:25
One night in a church service a young woman felt the tug of God at her
heart. She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and
Savior. The young woman had had a very rough past, involving alcohol,
drugs, and prostitution. But, the change in her was evident. As time went
on she became a faithful member of the church. She eventually became
involved in the ministry, teaching young children. After a while, this
faithful young woman caught the eye, and heart, of the pastor's son. The
relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans and this is when the
problems began.

You see, about half of the church membership did not think
that a woman with a past such as hers was a suitable mate for a pastor's
son. The church began to argue and fight about the matter. Then, they decided to
have a meeting. As the people made their arguments and tensions increased,
the meeting was getting completely out of hand. The young woman became very
upset about all the things being brought up about her past. The pastor's
son could not bear the pain it was causing his young, faithful wife-to-be.
As she began to cry, the pastor's son stood to speak. "I challenge
everyone of you to think carefully about what is happening here tonight. It
really is NOT my fiancé's past that is on trial here. What all of you
actually are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to wash away
sin. Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, what is your
verdict? Does the blood of Christ wash away sin?......or not?" Tears welled
up in the eyes of every Christian in the auditorium. The whole church began
to weep as they realized that they really had been slandering the blood of
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Too often, even as Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon
against our brothers and sisters, or even against ourselves. Forgiveness is
a very foundational part of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. If the
blood of Jesus could not cleanse the soul of every single person, then all
of us would be in a lot of trouble. As the old hymn says, "What can wash
away my sins? NOTHING, but the blood of Jesus." End of case!!!
....we all need this
message.... God Forgives..
So should We!

My Testimony
Posted On 06/06/2008 15:16:18

I would like to thank Jesus for Life. Without him, I would not be alive today.

My mother raised me to know about Jesus. She said that she prayed for me and promised God that she would make sure that I knew about him. I was born late in mom's life and she was sickly. If she couldn't take me to church, she always made sure I had a way to get there.  I am not saying that I was always living my life as a Christian should because I didn't, but Jesus was always in my heart. It seemed I couldn't get away from thoughts of him. That is fullfillment of his word.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.    Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

Many times in my life, Satan has tried to kill me in one way or the other. Mom and I both nearly died when I was born. I was in a car accident that the doctors and nurses told me that someone had caught me in a blanket because I shouldn't be alive. I had cancer when I was in my early 20's and I knew my life was about to end. I told God I had to make sure my children were out on their own, that I didn't want anyone else to raise them. The first doctor I went to told me my options and his nurse had me having a hysterectomy before I even left the office but it did not happen that way.

Almost 20 years later, the cancer returned and it was worse than the first time. My mother was sick at this time and actually in the hospital when I found out, so I decided I wouldn't worry her. I didn't tell anyone about it. We didn't know at that time, but mom was starting her own long journey with lung cancer.

I had a decision to make and the doctor said it had to be soon. I didn't keep my return visits with him and he sent me a certified letter along with the test & lab results, stating he would not be responsible for my life and that I needed to come back to see him. I knew with mom sick and the fear I had of surgery, that was not an option. I made the decision that Jesus would be my surgeon. I got in the word more and quoted healing scriptures from the time I got up in the morning. Everytime cancer entered my mind, I would claim healing and quote scripture. The revelation got into my heart. I knew without a doubt that healing was mine. I had a special woman in my life at that time that taught me about the healing power of God. She told me when I got to the point that I knew, what I knew, what I knew and no one could change my mind, it was in my spirit and it was mine. I never fully understood those words really until then.

I had a girl friend that attended the church that I go to now. She had asked me many times to go with her. My sister had come home to stay with mom, so I decided I would go to church with my friend. I had made my mind up that I was going to get my miracle. Please remember that these people knew nothing about me.

It was nearing the end of the service and Pastor Robinette asked me to come to the front and he had his wife and daughter lay hands on me and together in agreement, they began to curse the desease that God was showing him was taking over my body. To make a long story shorter, I received a miracle that night. Jesus removed the cancer from my body.

I made an appointment the next week to be checked again, not because I didn't believe, but so I could have the results to put with the first ones, to show the sceptics, because I give God the glory for that healing and no one else. There is not a doubt in my mind that I would not be here today, had I not went to Jesus for my healing. I think it had went so long and was so bad before it was detected that if man had done the surgery that I would not have survived.

I am not saying that going to the doctor is wrong. God gave us these men and women to help us. I do know that the word says,

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  (1 Peter 2:24) KJV

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5) KJV

So if he works through a physician or a minister, he is still healing today just like he did when he walked on this earth. He didn't take those stripes for us to be sick. That is not his intention. He says we are healed. We only have to believe and receive.

I Praise Him For Life.

Don't Waste The Gift

DON'T WASTE THE GIFT

Living each day just as the day before
No desire to try things new anymore
Tired of the battle life has brought to you
Losing, never winning in spite of all you do

Years of trying yet nothing seems to change
Heart felt desires just out of range
Struggling each day to reach that destination
Filled with an over whelming desperation

Lifes' years being wasted as each day passes
Set backs seem to come in masses
Weary, entertaining thoughts of giving in
Hope waning due to how the past has been

This wasn't Gods' plan for the life He created
He wants you to be happy and elated
Having hopes and dreams of tomorrow
Not filled with defeat and sorrow

You have special purpose in Gods' holy plan
Beyond your dreams and greater than
What your mortal mind can conceive
He will bring to pass if you only believe

What you can not do no matter what your plan
Don't give up with Gods' help you can
Through faith in Him you have connection
He will give your life direction

As you travel this road of lifes' highway
You never know which encounter may
Be placed there By God for you to fulfill
A plan He ordained for you in His will

Each hurdle you conqueror along the way
To you may seem painful but it may
Touch someone else as only you can
You may be fulfilling Gods' plan

Of your purpose you may not even be aware
But God could have sent you to share
Hope, courage and give strength to
Someone of whom you never knew

Take each step with courage, in His Love abide
Depend on His word, give no place to pride
 Relish each day while anticipating
The reward your Father has waiting

He placed in you talents designed just for you
To use as lifes' plan you pursue
Trust Him, your hopes and spirit He will lift
He gave you life Don't Waste The Gift
