Reading your blog sure sparked thoughts of some likes and dislikes in our home. My hubby loves burgers with as many added condiments that are available. It is his favorite lunch stop when we travel to town. I don't 'do' hamburgers but might accept a fishwitch if a dessert is included. The latest advertisement in our area is promoting the vegan Beyond burgers and the Delux Veggie Burger. Yikes! 

Instead of any burger, beef or chicken or veggie, I would enjoy an order of crisp bacon on a bun that has been spread with a liberal amount of strawberry jam. Or skip the bacon and request a bowl of Iced Oatmeal... hot oatmeal served with a generous scoop of ice cream and topped with mixed berries. No need to add milk or sugar to a plain bowl of breakfast oatmeal. 

How weird is that? 

I had to chuckle at this blog. I am pretty active online and sometimes I make the mistake of leaving the volume on my TV loud enough that it can be picked up by my laptop webcam mic. 

I will be surfing the internet to Amazon or just researching prescription meds by brand names online and low and behold, a commercial for the exact product plays on a commercial on my TV within 5 minutes. It does not matter what station I am watching, as long as my volume is not muted and the station plays commercials. If I change the channel and then surf to a different website that has some product or brand name associated, the same synching occurs within a very short time for the product or products I am looking at online.

If I mute the TV, move on to a different website, the synching stops and I am served the same blissfully irrelevent drivel that you are lamenting here.

My point here is that while you lament being served commercials that are of little use to you, I get the opposite--- an AV sales pitch reinforcement to buy that product that is on my laptop screen.

It's creepy and funny at the same time, knowing some smart internet bot program is listening into my home--- and I don't even have Alexa to blame!

I love a good bacon cheese burger, however, no chicken with my waffles.  I'm like you Altara, chicken one dinner but keep waffles and yes bacon, for a breakfast item in my house.  I saw a movie about a woman who opened and became famous for her chicken and waffles.  That was the first time I had ever heard of that combination.

I like bacon on a burger but not everytime I eat a burger. As for chicken with a waffle, not for me. But I do love chicken. With potatoes.
