Shadows of Halloween
Posted On: 10/02/2021 13:56:15

Darkened ruins of Whitby Abbey

As sunlight begins to fade

Casting shadows over ancient gravestones

Where buried bones are laid

Misty apparition dancing

Between the whistling trees

Trick of the mind's eye perhaps

Or a treat on All Hallows' Eve

Perfect setting for a writer's imagination

A gothic tale not to discard

Source of Bram Stoker's inspiration

To pen the famous Count ALUCARD

LOL.  I did it merely for rhyming and reading from right to left spells Dracula.

I have not heard the name Alucard in decades unless I watch a really old movie
