Rubber Bands

     "Rubber Bands"

Why are we frightened

  Of  Rubber Bands?

Is it because they pop

  And sting our hands.

Is it because they stretch,

  From side to side.

But how far do they stretch,

  Then pop us by surprise?

 Rubber Bands are good,

  To have around.

 Sometimes they’re handy,

  To holding things down.

 Sometimes they’re good,

  In keeping things together.

 They wrap ‘round the wrist,

  Getting tighter and tighter.

 Rubber Bands will be around,

   For quite awhile.

   So we must be patient,

    And not consider them vile.

Dianne

That was a fun ride down the page. Lyrical silk.

Great job!

Thank you Lynne  and that is true about a phobia.

An interesting and amusing poem, as long as you don't have a rubber band phobia.   It reminds me of something in the vein of Pam Ayres.  Enjoyed reading it.

I enjoyed this. Rubber Bands are indeed 'handy' to have  around.
