A poem for today
Posted On: 03/03/2025 13:49:24

Reflections

Rise and greet the day
Coffee cup in your hand
Birds chirping their song
Breakfast goodies on a tray

Peaceful early moments
Soon will disappear
As the world reaches in
Framed in dissonance

Voices with much to say
Pushing back the years
Forgotten this vision
Heading the wrong way

Think back to beginning
Of when we were we
And we were free

Listen to the singing
What was supposed to be
When we were free

When we were free..

A lot has happened in the last year. Great advice, keep going forward. Thanks for your comment.

Been reflecting lately on the changes in our lives..for me, most recently. Many have occurred over this last year. Our sweet dog, Dixie, crossed the rainbow bridge last April. Eight weeks to that day, our neighbor, Marie, moved out of home (66 years here) to a skilled nursing center. She turns 95 in a few months. My hairdresser retired this past December. My chiropractor retires this week. I'll be seeing him on Friday. Have lost 2 dear friends (March 2024)..so here we are..it's March 2025. So many emotions and feelings swirl in my head now. I have learned and accepted that regardless of all that life throws our way, we continue to move forward. Never look back..because we're not going that way. Thanks for sharing my friend...🙂
