Nightmare at Boston Marathon
Posted On: 04/16/2013 08:18:38

I usually don't have my tv on during the day except to watch my Netflix . Yesterday was no exception ..except that I didn't have it on until it was time to watch Bones at 8 pm. I had talked to no one during the day so did not know what was happening just 40 miles north of me. I could not believe what I was seeing in front of me. The marathon in Boston had turned into a horrorthon. I called my daughter and she also had not known about it until late in the day as she took her grand-daughter for a day trip. Questions were asked between us with no answers. OMG Why?? The Boston Marathon is a big day for people all over the world. People were killed..an innocent child killed and his sister's body maimed, hundreds of onlookers seriously injured as they watched the runners not knowing what was to change in a matter of seconds. We can only hope the ones who did this will be apprehended and justice done. What next? To what end? My heart goes out to those people who suffered yesterday and I imagine life will be different for so many of them. God Bless Them.

I turned my TV on at 6 to get the local news and weather report and that was the first that I knew about what had happened.  Such a terrible thing and so many innocent people killed and injured.  I said a prayer for all of them and their families right away when I heard and saw about it.  No one I knew was there but there were people from this area that were, some as runners and others in the crowd watching it.  I pray that something like that never happens again and that whoever did it are found and prosecuted for doing such a terrible thing.  May God be with everyone who was injured and with the families who lost their loved ones.

I still get that lump in my throat and ache in my stomach when I think about it. Of course where I live so close to Boston they have been keeping it on the news day and night. The list of critically ill has gone down which is a blessing. Luv, Alice

Australians too have expressed their horror at yet another cruel and vicious attack. We too had runners with their family and friends cheering them on. In fact it is a world event with many different countries taking part, all enjoying the day together. I think that makes the bombing even more terrible. These weren't politicians or political leaders just a group of people joining together, helping to raise money for those less fortunate. I hope the perpetrators are caught and dealt with quickly. Let us hope this was an isolated event and there are no more. I hope all those affected by this scary happening are getting all the help and support they need. Glen.

. I totally agree.     Alice

Sure is senseless. There were about 45 New Zealanders in the race. Prominent names were mention like ex MP Laila Harre, Nick Willis and a few other prominent ones. Some were New Zealanders that live in U.S.A now.

This is the boy that was killed. He wrote this a year ago.

That gives me goose bumps.   How ironic.   That poor sweet child.  Luv, Alice

Another senseless act, of which there are too many these days, What possible reason can anyone have to do a thing like that, I hope they find out who is responsible. We in New Zealand watched in disbelief that such a thing could happen. One of ours was in that marathon and thankfully escaped unharmed. Let justice prevail when the perpetrator is caught.

I say amen to that Barb.    Luv, Alice
