Gone Fishing

photo Apocalypse.jpg   This is my oldest son Mark's boat. He has a Sea Captain's License and can "drive" some pretty big ships. His boss in Falmouth, Ma. owns a ferry service to the Islands...Nantucket and Martha's Vinyard. Mark has driven them on a few occasions. The name of his boat is "Apocalypse"...Don't ask me why because i don't know..he says the word apocalpse has more than one meaning. Anyhow it is just a fishing boat to him although he can take out a certain # of people fishing for $$. In the Summer he goes out on his boat on Sundays and Wednesdays and he's been taking my grand-son Trevor with him. They generally get  a bunch of fish.He seems to know just where they are. I have shown them here before when Bill was alive. Just sending a pic of Trevor's catch last Sunday. Stripped Bass. One of the guy on this trip has lobster pots out in the ocean and they stopped to unload them. Trevor loves fishing as much as his uncle Mark and his Papa (Bill) did. Alice

My cousin in R.I.  Is a quahoger, hard work too,

Hi Jackie, yes it is hard work...probably explains the high price for them in the fish markets. Are you set with staying on the Hill?  Hope so.   Luv, Alice

Ah ! the fun and joy of being afloat,

on a safe wellfound fishing boat,

to throw out a lengthy fishing line,

with hook and sinker on a wavy brine.

To sit and to dream of a bountiful catch,

freshly cooked with drinks down the hatch,

a catch so big, that no one can or will match,

the size, too large to the boat to attach.

To relax with rod and line would be my pick,

to battle a fighting fish and winning a trick,

but if nature did raise up a swamping swell,

the undulating would nauseate, make me sick as hell!

So I will leave the fishing to those who like it,

and be most grateful for just a wee tasty bit.!
