I wish there was a third option. I'm too old to shovel and definately too old to make snow angels. Of course there is always go on a get-away to Hawaii. Probably would have to sell the house to do that. Prices are not in my budget. So, yes, we have snow this morning. The weathermen have been saying1 or 2 " in my area, just 40 miles south of Boston....We already have about 2 1/2 " and it is falling straight down at a pretty fast pace.  I had high hopes of going to get some stickers etc. to start making my reunion scrapbook, but not today for sure. The other thing is.....they are now forecasting a bigger storm for WEDNESDAY.....at least 5". Now this is not a lot you are mabye thinking as compared to some other places in the country but when you have been housebound for as long as I have, any amount is a lot because I just don't drive in it or even go out into it.....this from an avid snowmobiler in my day....news flash! we are now being told it could be near 5" today instead of the 1 to 2 inches previously. No numbers yet on the storm on Wednesday, but there is a possability of even another storm after Wednesday but no particulars on that one. In New England we call that "just wait and see". It looks like a Thomas Kinkade painting in my backyard. Never said it wasn't pretty. I think I'll surf the net for some ideas for my scrapbook since I do have some spare time(lots of it from the looks) on my hands. But first a nice lunch of my home-made soup to keep me warm and motivated. Later, Luv, Alice

I can't imagine what you people go through in winter. Snow has never featured in my life, and the only time I've been in it was in Australia's Blue Mountains 50 years ago. I guess you can't imagine a life with absolutely no snow in it, ever! As for having to shovel it, well I'm glad to have escaped that. Of course I don't get to see pretty snowflakes. I have the option of visiting areas of my country where they do have snow, but so far I've never done that. Do you think I should put it on my Bucket List, to experience snow first-hand? Good for you Alice, finding something to occupy yourself with instead of driving in the snow.
Barb.

Well, yes, I think it would be a good place to put it on your bucket list. If you just did it for one day..but what would be really beautiful is to find a place where they do snow or ice sculptures. They ususally are near colleges. We went to a place up north of us...New Hampshire...where the college kids were having a contest making snow and ice sculptures. Fabulous. Just a thought.    Luv, Alice

Alice, it's all about what we get accustom too; I can't imagine living in the high heat areas either .... And humidity! Ugh!

I remember our first visit to Palm Springs, California when they received a very unusual blanket of snow. A young man working at the gas station told us that he was too busy to fill our car with fuel (he was trying to wash away about 5" of snow with a garden hose. Our daughter lives on an island off the coast of Seattle, Washington, and when they get snow, they have no road equipment to plow the snow on the streets, and they have a terrible time getting around. I guess we have to remind ourselves ... "It is what it is!".

Happy scrapbooking!

I know the housebound feeling, Alice.  We were told here in Eastern PA that we'd be getting 2-5" of snow and there's already at least 8" & it's still snowing!!  Hang in there!
