You wouldn't believe it. The sun is shining now at 10 a.m. and yet in another 2 or 3 hours we will be in the throes of a good old nor'easter. Looks like Mother Nature has an abundant supply of that white stuff this year. My area of the East Coast is right smack dab in the center of at least 12" of snow dumped on us. If you turn on the tv all that's on are warnings about the storm....gotta love the weathermen/women...they do go on and on. They get so excited about it.  As I've said in the past "Thank goodness I have Netflix and my iPad and otherdevices...no, not that kind of device...they are all charged up and ready to go. I must get my emergency stuff ready now...candles and battery lanterns. I only hope we don't lose our power...that would not be good as,  though my furnace runs on natural gas it is fired up by electricity and that would not be good at all. Well, folks if you are also expecting a storm , try not to go out if you don't have to ...and if you are a certain age don't go shoveling that snow. It will probably be heavy. This warning comes from the local weather station...oh, and all other local stations here on the East Coast. Please take care...that comes from me.   Later, Luv, Alice

We ended up with about 10 inches of snow. I lost my powrer but only for an hour. Not too bad. More coming on Tuesday but not a major storm. We'll just about be all cleaned out by then only to start over. As they say "It is what it is"...Luv, Alice

Wishing you a turn of the tide Alice, and better weather soon. Good job you have those devices (no, not that kind) to see you through any emergency. I too remember when farmers and fishermen "read" the sky and formed their own conclusions regarding the weather. To the rest of us, who neither farmed nor fished, it didn't matter, we lived in a mild climate anyway. Good luck Alice and take care.
Luv Barb.

Well written! Don't you wonder how we were always ready for these snow storms, when we lived in our parents' homes, as children - or in  our own homes, as young married folks? We didn't have the warnings about the weather, then, via forecasters. I remember my grandfather would look up at the moon, or some other way, and tell us what was coming and HE was right - not like some of the forecasters who predict impending disaster and gloom.  Makes one wonder, doesn't it! Stay warm, and I too, hope the electricity doesn't cease - in an all electric small condo.

Thank you Jane. I remember those days too. I hope you also don't lose your power...we are "powerless" without it. Haha.    Luv, Alice
