REMEMBERING and HONORING the 5,000 men that died during the D-Day Invasion...June 6, 1944 the LONGEST DAY in American History.
There is no greater sacrifice than dying for others and dying to preserve the freedoms we believe in.
"The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you." — Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower's message to the troops before the invasion, 1944
"They fight not for the lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate." — President Franklin D. Roosevelt, radio broadcast, June 6, 1944
Good morning. Vast celebrations in my neighborhood of the eradication, if you will, of my horrible toenail. I never thought I would get it off. And of course it is GARBAGE DAY. I shall not be fully participating in this as I made some drops the last few days in the city containers. I may, under the cover of darkness, deposit some suicidal food, donuts, in the neighbor's container. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
How is your Wednesday so far? I've gotten lots done and just popped a banana bread in the oven. Though this photo is not my own blackberries, I have been picking a few of our berries every day and there are bazillions yet to ripen. I check them daily so I can get the ripe ones before the birds find them. Looking forward to our first blackberry cobbler. We got 1 3/8" rain last night and all the plants are smiling. And so am I!
