Dear LuvSnow...
Posted On 10/10/2008 20:03:44

Dear LuvSnow,

I must say I am very upset and disappointed. Although, you sent me an invitation to your meat loaf dinner last night, you neglected to tell ME the time. You obviously put the time on everyone else's invitation because even KiwiBarb came from New Zealand. With the time differences in our geographical locations, by the time I arrived it was over. The snow was so deep that I couldn't make it up the driveway. I did however notice all the tire tracks, foot prints, monkey prints, hoof prints and nana peels left behind. It was obvious GeneologyGal brought a calf from the farm!

Did you say that TaffyCat came? You must know how she rambles on so when she feels well? And I suppose Love2bgram talked incisively about women using a public restrooms? At that point, I know Vespertine must have spoke up about how difficult it is for woman to go to the bathroom while they are camping? It doesn't take much to get them sarted. Did that foolish MonkeyButt talk about the nana peeler? And the zipper machine? Well I'd like to peel that Monkey and zip up her mouth!!! IslandBoomer probably drank too much all the while complaining about how cold it was.

Well, all I had to eat last night was a dried up burger, from the drive thru, that I ate while driving home in all that snow. I bet there's a lot of food left over from the dinner. Therefore, I think after you grossly messed up MY invitation that you should send me a PLATTER of food. No nanas please.

So glad to hear you had such a good time last night! I hope you have an even better time today cleaning up monkey & cow dung, as well as all those banana peels. Smiles and blessings...

Hugs,
peanut

A Little Mixed Up...

A Little Mixed Up...

Just a line to say I'm living
That I'm not among the dead.
Though I'm getting more forgetful
and mixed up in the head.

For sometimes, I can't remember
When I stand at the foot of the stair
If I must go up for something
Or have I just come down from there?

And before the fridge, so often
My poor mind is filled with doubt.
Have I just put food away, or
Have I come to take some out?

And there's times when it's dark
With my nightcap on my head,
I don't know if I'm retiring
Or just getting out of bed.

So, if it's my turn to write you
There's no need in getting sore
I may think that I have written
And don't want to be a bore.

So remember I DO LOVE YOU
And I wish that you were near.
But now it's nearly mail time
So I must say "Goodbye Dear."

There I stood beside my mailbox
With a face so very red,
Instead of mailing you my letter
I had opened it instead.

I've got used to my arthritis,
To my dentures I'm resigned.
I can manage my bifocals
But Oh God, I miss my mind!

The Hill's Changed!
Posted On 10/06/2008 16:13:15

Alztimers! I don't recognize people & pages, not even my late night friend GreenEyze. I'm frightened with nightmares! Y-awn, MusicLady where's the coffee?

There was going to be a birthday party for Mouse today at the chapel, SunnySmile was doing the video. But, Pastor Fred's having eye surgery tomorrow & needs prayer. BlueBird should have surgery, she doesn't see the scary things lurking in her bulletins! Also, AnnDR is seeing a doctor on Thursday, so please include "wisdom for doc's" in prayers.

Angellee named her cat "Punkin." ShyOne's cat types! Taffy's cat is a Tom that peeks on her when she showers, who knew? Then there's MonkeyButt. I could shake that monkey. Says she'll work for nannas but doesn't pick up her peels! Noticed her size? Denido found MonkeyButt's uncle stealing. Amethyst has the same relatives? So many peels! Hedwig feels she does all the work, but I know what Vespertine does here. Of course Diana (refid) just sits passing a ball around while LuvSnow plays Tic-tac-toe.

Isobel made spaghetti sauce (smelled good), told us how tasty it was, didn't offer any though! Nama took pic's of jars of grape jelly she made, again no offer. The nerve! Taffy made a brew (ingredient - hair of flea). No thanks!

Speaking of Alztimers, Taffy doesn't know where anyone is, LuvSnow is completely confused, sends Fall stuff downunder, Spring stuff upover & thinks the ghouls are new friends! Meanwhile, Rabbihorses is a bad girl. GeneologyGal is oblivious to all because she broke her glasses. Sassy's no help, (she's soft), turned furnace on already! Thank God Mona's home, maybe she can do something, it's obvious TC & EB have lost control. We need LadyUp, ole Blue & their special passenger. He is the ONLY ONE that can save us. AMEN? Oh I almost forgot, SassyKitten cannot use her hand so maybe she could borrow ShyOne's cat?  Godbless.

The Sting of Death...
Posted On 09/14/2008 11:28:50

We are God's creation!  It is awesome How He created us in such a way that prepares us for death.  As we grow old and/or become ill, our body and mind deteriorates, runs down and we grow tired.  Still, we fight death as a child fights sleep because we don't want to miss anything, we don't want to leave our loved ones.  Finally, at the end of a long day we are overcome by fatigue and welcome sleep.

When we know our true and living God... We can know beyond a doubt that separation from our loved ones is only temporary; we have His promise that we will see our loved ones again.  Both those that have passed before us and those that will follow.  What a revelation that is!  It gives us everything to look forward to, that promise helps us in the  loss of a loved one and eases the sting of death itself.

And many of them that sleep
in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life,
and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Daniel 12:2

For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

September 11th...

September 11th, 2001

A haunting question; "Where were you September 11, 2001?"  As for me, I was home getting ready for an appointment.  At the last minute I turned on the television to program the VCR... then I saw a plane hit one of the towers!?!  I had overwhelming feelings of confusion and uneasiness, I shook my head, it must be a movie!  I stood there paralyzed starring... when moments later I saw another plane hit the second tower... Realization, shock, pain, terror, anger, my stomach started contracting!  I just stood there in disbelief.  The horror of it!  Then the uncontrollable tears came, the kind that comes from the very deepest heartbreak, the kind that lasts for days, months, years and still returns when revisiting these memories.  The only other time in my life that I felt like this; Bible in hand, brokenhearted, glued to the television for weeks, crying constantly, feeling overwhelmingly sadden, was when President Kennedy was killed.  In both cases it felt like a personal attack.

Our son Thomas is a volunteer EMT.  September 11th was personal for him as well.  He lost a good friend and co volunteer on that day.  Although Tom's friend Zeng was from Manhattan he volunteered as an EMS while attending graduate school here in (Rochester) upstate New York.  On September 11th Zeng was using his skills when he was killed.  He helped a priest and when he was no longer needed, he went back into the tower.

Within 48 hours, along with a full ambulance crew, our son Tom was at ground zero.  He reported the horrific details to us; there was no time for grief everyone worked until they dropped!  They worked constantly while in a state of shock and disbelief.  Even big tough cops needed hugs.  There was no need for money anywhere on the island, volunteers where provided with a place to sleep, when they were hungry they could just walk in a restaurant, would be fed, and no one would accept their money.  Tom and a close family friend went back to New York twice more.  However, it was not with an ambulance, it was working with a K9 unit at the Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island.  They searched for human remains of which were then sent for DNA testing.  They felt honored to be able to assist in bringing closure to the families of those who died in the attack.  It was a very emotional experience and our son, as well as a multitude of others, still suffer from PTSD.

We as a family will never forget September 11, 2001.  President Bush stated that "Evil visited us that day!"  In the days that followed, it was reported across the country, that church attendance was at an all time high.  Wasn't it amazing how quickly sin got everything back to normal?

The Stars

The Stars

When I look up at the stars at night, twinkling, I am in absolute awe.  The universe is so vast; even using the most powerful telescope; we cannot count all the stars.  It is beyond comprehension but, God knows every single star by name. Psalm 147:4b  It makes me feel very small yet at the same time so very special.  Because, He created all this for us, you and me!

Florida State University has a very interesting page on its Website.  It begins as a view of the Milky Way Galaxy viewed from a distance of 10 million light years and then zooms in towards Earth in the powers of ten.  From 10 million, to one million, to 100,000 light years and then it finally reaches a large Oak tree. Then the University continues to zoom in on the tree.

Once you click on the site, the software does all the work.  Sit back and imagine how perfect our Creator and the universe are.  At the end it says AUTO... click on that and review the process in reverse.

The wonder of it all does not stop with the immensity of the universe.  Notice in the progression when DNA emerges... Does it not show what the Bible teaches: "We are fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:14

Now for your enjoyment please click here: God's Milky Way
