I havent been to the cinema for several years ...if a decent film with a good story with no violence or bad language comes along I will watch it on telly

I like most kinds of music from some classical to pop (except for rap ).....favourites are soft ballads..

I enjoy all kinds of books from biographies to novels and have been an avid reader since early childhood.and at some point of the day you`ll find me with my nose in a book - one of my favourite novelists is Maeve Binchey

Unfortunately I havent been as active on NOTH as much as I`d like to be but do try and keep up with your news via bulletins from you........I enjoy posting pics in the group Photography Challenge but because of limitations of my time on NOTH often get overwhelmed by the amount of mail

Hi my name is VAL ..I live in the north east of England - outside the industrial areas and cities its a lovely part of the country - sandy unspoilt beaches and lots of historical sites and ancient castles. I live near Durham which is a World Heritage Site with its beautiful ancient cathedral and castle. I am a retired Civil Servant - I have one sibling - a sister who emigrated to Australia in the late 1960s with her husband and two children. I have been married to Les for 34 years - we married in my late thirties but we werent blessed with children. This is our only marriage for both of us. He has now retired from employment too so we now go on long holidays while we are able to and our health and finances allow,

- the company of good friends .I really enjoy a `girlie` lunch out with a number of my girlfriends at least once a month -
- Autumn - my favourite season when the trees change colour. I love all the gold, bronze red and yellow shades on the trees -
- What I call `My time` when I enjoy a bit of solitude.. Ive always been this way since being a tot -I guess I`m a quiet person who likes my own space at times
