A Minnesota native, I retired with my second wife (26 years)to the White Mountains of Northeastern Arizona where we have a four season climate, but with winters that are much milder than those in Minnesota. We live in a rural area at the top of the Mogollon Rim, surrounded by the Apache-Sitgreaves National forest.
I am an amateur photographer and student of the craft, and have been since I met my wife 28 years ago. I never tried to turn pro, but I worked for a few years in photo labs processing film and doing custom printing and Photoshop retouching and restoration. I have been all digital for about ten years now, but still retain a film camera just in case...
I also do woodworking as a hobby and as a part time seasonal business. My wife makes natural stone bead jewelry and I make large Western Red Cedar birdhouses and feeders, novelty household items like key racks, and scrollsawn artwork. We sell at local craft shows and farmers' markets, and meet a lot of very talented and creative people. I am a member of the Arts Alliance of the White Mountains. (AAWM)
