I have been widowed for almost four years now. Moved to VA from WI when I retired. My husband passed away shortly after moving here and I found myself here all alone. I've adjusted, made some friends, take piano lessons, volunteer in the community and work part time in a church office. My mother moved here from Australia two years ago and now lives in a nursing home across the street from my home.

I love reading and watching movies. Also am a dog lover and currently own one small dog, which is a change because I usually have two or three at a time. Have thinned out the herd in preparation for possibly moving to an apartment in the next year or so. I am an avid gardener, enjoy hiking trails along the Blue Ridge Mountains, and like to fish.

The direction this country seems to be going in; use of four letter words.

As mentioned previously, gardening, reading, hiking. Am teaching myself to knit and crochet. Like to sew and try new recipes.
