The rain is gone and it is a misty, dreary day. We are still a little warm and humid but cooler temperatures are promised for us in the next week. Tropical Depression Pamela gave us 2" but areas (Kyle Kid included) got up to 5" of rain.
This is the perfect weather for a nap even though I rarely take them. My Hubby would say every day is a perfect day for a nap.
I just don't seem to have much "get up and go" today. But alas, we have errands to run. So I best be getting in gear.
good-morning, been really busy the last few days. taking advantage of nice days to get all of my outside stuff done before it gets cold out. hope all is well with you and you are enjoying this fall season..marykay
good morning Nancy, thanks about my page. Sure love me some plaid. lol. Still sunny and dry here if not exactly cool. that's okay though, the rain stopped so color me happy! Have a good Wednesday and take time to relax.
A very good day to you. Strong storms predicted for us today and tomorrow but will believe it when I see it. Enjoy the rest of the week and take care.....George
Everyone in Texas is talking about me... I am on the news a lot. OK, I am also getting a lot of text comments from my friends too... troublemaker, dangerous, crazy, wreck havoc, naughty, go somewhere else...
Now come on, is that fair? We are getting a light shower right now but we are promised rain tomorrow. They should all be thanking me, right?
Just wait until tomorrow. Ok, I am working tomorrow so enjoy Taco Tuesday and Enchilada Wednesday. I'll be back soon so share your smile with everyone you encounter because the sun will soon be shining again.
Nancy, mine will soon be moved and covered with plastic. But they will get uncovered often over the next 2 months when we are quite warm.
Monday is half over, but I have a question. Does anyone else have strawberry plants? I have 4 of them right now. Three are in hanging baskets and one in a regular pot. Two of them are hanging side by side.
I just ate two big tasty strawberries off of this plant last week and would you look at all the blooms and new strawberries growing. This crazy plant has been giving me strawberries for about 6 months.
I just wondered if anyone has any experience with strawberry plants and why this one plant is so prolific when the others are not. I even gave a couple of plants to a friend earlier this year. All four of the plants I have are putting off babies.
Nancy, lots of time we are in shorts even in December, but by January we pull out our sweaters in Texas.
Weekend isn't over for everyone yet. Some people have Monday off for Columbus Day and in Canada Thanksgiving Day. So I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday and Monday. We are expecting storms to move into Texas late Sunday evening.
Now look closely. Can you spot J Lo blending in? She is laying on the dog mat, sneaking up on the dog food. What joy all of our dogs bring us!
So are you getting ready for Halloween? Do you have a costume or one for your kids or pet? Do you really think our pets hate us when we dress them up?
I do know when they love us... when it is snack time. Do your dogs get table scraps or just dog treats and dental chews? Our dogs get a lot of treats and chews and every now and then they might get something that I am eating.
I know when we are gone they eat very little. But when we get home the bowl seems to empty right away. Lots of times they go to the bowl (it is always down) when we are eating at the table.
Guess I had better go find something for us to eat and make sure they have food too. Blessings & Hugs are coming your way.
Good day my friend. Well we made the week and want to wish you a fabulously great weekend. Terrific weather here. Sure enjoyed my trip to Indiana to see family, the house I grew up in and the old neighborhood although a lot of the area has been torn down and new homes built. Forgot how many thousands of acres of corn and soybeans are planted. Saw lots of old covered bridges. Enjoy your weekend and take care........George
Oh my, is there a more true statement? Well, not that I know of anyway. OH! OH! Wait... I might have found one...
It is already 2:30 and I have been trying to get here since I finished watering the backyard early this morning. Hubby got the front watered.
I get in the computer room and just get lost in, well, I'm not sure what. OK! I might have taken 50 pictures this morning of plants in our yard. Then uploaded them to the computer and into an album. I will post in Bulletins for those who didn't get the email from me. And I might have also airdropped 70 more from a friend and put them on my iPad and loaded them into a Google album. So where does your day go?
And I haven't even had breakfast or lunch yet! What are you fixing today? Hubby gave up and had a sandwich. If I wait long enough he might end up with cereal for dinner.
good morning Nancy, the witches brew recipe sure sounds good! We are on day 3 of 4 for rain. More tomorrow I'm afraid. Looking forward to a dry weekend hopefully. Have a lovely Thursday and stay dry if you can.
Oh what a beautiful morning! Oh what a beautiful day! I got a beautiful feelin' Everything'g going our way! Now that you have a song in your head all day, I am positive that everything is going our way.
Especially since I've had two cups of coffee earlier and just now two Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Taquitos from WhatABurger! So bring on the day. I can handle it.
Even upside down! How about you? Is everything going your way? I hope it smooth sailing for you as this week flies by!
Just have fun, go with the flow, share your smile with everyone you encounter. I love all the Halloween and Fall pages.
We got one nice downpour shower on Saturday that gave up 1/2" of rain and filled my 4 buckets that were empty. So now I have water to pour on the plants under eaves that don't get a drink when it rains.
We had a great weekend but don't know what we actually did other than watch college football all day Saturday and NFL all day Sunday after our three Church sermons online. As you can see I have already been outside and my strawberries are still producing. I already potted 5 new plants that someone shared with me.
HELP ME!
You can tell what Hubby is doing. He is on the last of four dogs now. For the most part, they are not excited about bath time but do tolerate it.
So I guess I will pay a few bills and see what the rest of the day holds for us. It is national Taco day, but we will probably wait until tomorrow.
Happy weekend and new month to you. Going back home today after spending a week in Indiana visiting family ,seeing the old neighborhood and house I grew up in, and making a tour of the old covered bridges. Had forgotten how many thousands of acres of corn and soy beans were grown.here. Saw and did lots of things that brought back many memories. Have a terrific week....George
What difference does the change of a month make? Sometimes none at all; then we have from September 30 to October 1. Oh my, the leaves start falling!
But why can't they all fall in a nice neat pile instead of all over the yard. And about the time you get them raked up, the wind comes along and you get to start all over. Or after you get them bagged, the tree decides to drop another bunch of leaves.
Doesn't Snoopy make it look easy! Well, life may not be that easy but it sure can be fun. I am praying today, this 1st day of the wonderful month of October, that your Friday, your weekend, and your month of October will be fun and exciting!
Oh Nancy, the only place I know that has year round nice temperatures is Mexico City. My DIL, Evelyn, is from there.
We just finished the last of the Chicken and Dumplings. And yes, it was delicious. So now it is time for a Peppermint Pattie!
We have been to the Glaucoma doctor and to the Optical store to pay for Hubby's glasses. We did stop and buy a lottery ticket. Hubby always buys one for him and one for me. If there is a winning ticket, it is his ticket not mine.
We still haven't had a drop of rain but they keep promising us it is coming tomorrow. This is the third day in a row they have said tomorrow.
It is almost time to go check on the chickens, give them fresh water, throw them some mealworms and collect eggs.
Have you ever had fresh "from the hen" eggs? Oh my gosh! They just have such a wonderful flavor. So now I'm off to water the plants and watch for hummingbirds.
