The rainbow last night at about 7:30 pm was the second one in two days, the 12th & 14th. Then we had marble size hail this morning at 8 am and marble size hail again as the cool front came through at noon.
The temperature dropped from 85 to 70. My car is in the garage and Hubby's car is under the carport. This morning it rained for about an hour and we had 1/2" and this afternoon we were right on the edge of the storm.
Do you see the horse head too? In a matter of minutes after the hail stopped the sun was back out and shining to make the most perfect spring day.
And the storms were off in the distance. We are so Blessed again and again. I hope you are having a beautiful Spring day too.
Have you ever colored eggs... fancy? How long has it been since you colored eggs at all? Me, forever! I can't even remember the last time.
This picture was from yesterday when we finished the main big bed in the center of the yard. We did 5 flower beds and used all 30 bags of mulch. Three of the beds had to be weeded or cleaned out before we could put mulch down. I will send a picture when all the cute things are put back in this bed. We did get the plastic taken off of the makeshift greenhouse and folder & put away for winter.
There is still so much more to be done. But it will be a little at a time now that the heavy lifting is done. My knees are SCREAMING and Hubby hurts all over. What a trouper he is and I am so blessed! Tornado Watch just issued and storms heading this way could have lime size hail.
Still waiting for it to warm up enough to go outside. We started at 37° this morning. Yesterday the winds were 20 mph and tomorrow they are supposed to be 26 mph with gusts.
I sure hope your weekend is not as windy as ours. The grass has been so wet this morning that dogs feet have to be wiped or you get a wet lap!
Dog? What dog? I'm the Easter Bunny. I did see 3 bunnies in our front yard on the Wyze webcam this past week. And so begins all the Easter Egg Hunts. Have a fun weekend!
Hello my dear friend and hope all is well. The chemo has really been working on me this time with my vision, loss of voice and now being anemic. Will just go what needs to be done. Have a blessed week.....George
Do you know how good it feels to be home today? I have at least 3 big loads of laundry to get done. I am sure I have a list a mile long.
It is a chilly morning, only 60's for highs and so I probably won't go outside until late in the day. Perfect day to read a book. Besides, the weekend will be in the 80's.
You are invited to come on over! Even stay for the weekend. I promised there won't be a lot of work going on here (and I know you believe me). Ok... toilets need scrubbing, many bags of mulch need spreading and just a couple of other things on my list like reading a book.
Just caught the end of lightning about 1 am after the storms had passed. Early news last night reported one area that already had 12" of rain.
Our rain, downpour, lasted about an hour and we got 2". Last night we had our usual stream in the backyard. But this morning there wasn't even a puddle. We have been dry and are grateful for the rain. I love that it soaked right in.
I am a morning person and a night person. I love watching the sun come up every morning and listening for the "crack" of dawn, hurrying out to catch the colors that appear and disappear quickly. But I also love late night, watching the moon move overhead, feeling the cool breeze, and seeing millions of stars in the sky. What about you?
Guess what I saw yesterday and today? I cleaned out the feeders and put in fresh food and then it was nice enough, warm with not too much wind, to sit on the patio for a while. I have at least a couple of different hummers!
I am working Monday and Tuesday, so I have been extra busy this weekend working inside and outside playing catch up. Now of course, we watched Longhorn Baseball and Softball Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon too.
So stop by and I will be back by Wednesday to check on you again. After all, you are my favorite, next to the hummingbirds in my yard.
Surely April means Spring! I know it means showers as we are supposed to get rain on Monday and Tuesday. I just hope it means the temperatures won't drop into the 30's again.
I am so ready to put flowers in the yard and hanging baskets full of flowers in the trees. We still need to clean out several flower beds and buy red mulch for all of them.
I am anxious to see butterflies and hummingbirds pollinating and all the beautiful colors of Spring. With all that being said, I am heading to the yard and sending you lots of ...
This was us yesterday. The wind was blowing so very hard in every direction. I didn't think the umbrella would hold up on the short trip to the mailbox. Sun is supposed to shine but it is MOSTLY cloudy so far today. We were blessed with 1.5" of rain. I hope you saw the links I posted in a Bulletin. So many people with homes burnt to the ground from fires and others with no roof or not much left from tornadoes. Please keep all in your prayers.
Springtime in Texas! Wildfires, High Winds, 80° to 30° temperatures, 2" Rains after Ice Storms. Somehow we got the yard mowed & bagged all the dried grass. Well, not all of it because dogs come in the doggy door covered in dried grass after rolling around outside. Then on a calm wind day, we got the fertilizer spread before the next rain.
This weekend we watched college baseball, softball and boys and girls basketball (Longhorns won their matches). Also the dogs all four got a bath and they are thrilled or not.
Sure hope you are enjoying Spring weather and the weekend. Share your Smile and know that I am sending you lots of
A good weekend to you.Sorry for not posting on the hill much but having trouble with blurred vision.Don't know if it's the chemo or what. have appointment with ophthalmologist Wed and hope to find out. Thanks for staying with me.
Stormy looking weather yesterday evening. Wednesday we were above 80° and working just a little in the backyard, I broke a sweat. Thursday we got the yard mowed; all the dead grass bagged up and ready for trash pick up.
Of course it is much cooler today. And we still have to put fertilizer down probably this weekend before we have a chance of rain on Monday. I am anxiously awaiting April when I should be able to move plants out from under the plastic into the trees and the yard.
You know... head 'em up and move 'em out. Yes, right now I think I am ready for summer. Yee Haw!
Are you wearing green? I am wearing orange (big surprise) with maybe a hint of hidden green.
I know! I can wear a hat. Do you have a hat to wear?
OK! Everybody looks like they are ready to go to the St. Patrick's Day party. Do we have to bring something to eat? I want something green to drink, maybe green tea!
Do you know what time you will be here to pick me up for the parade and the party? Which pair of dancing shoes are you wearing? May I have this dance?
Midway through the week and washing lots of muddy dog towels. Yes, we forgot to put the doggy door on first thing this morning.
Do you have any magic up your sleeve? Or anything magical planned for St. Patrick's Day tomorrow? Will you be wearing green?
Cats may be finicky eaters but I bet they don't come in with muddy feet or mud caked between their toes! Thank goodness it is warm and they can stay outside until we get everything vacuumed and mopped. Then they will all get a bath and we will start the entire process over again.
It might be just one of those days! Do you know what to do to change that? Share your smile with others.
After our 1" of rain we are smiling except when the dogs come in the doggy door with wet and sometimes muddy feet. Then they do something cute and irresistible and make us smile again.
The weekend is gone, spring forward is done, and Monday is half over. Time flies when you are having fun. Wonder what Ole Mother Nature has in store for us this week. Tonight we have a chance of rain... YIPPEE and medium size hail... HISS
So today we are going to laugh and share our smiles with everyone we encounter. It is a great day to count our blessings and your friendship is among them!
