Hello my dear friend and hope all is well with you. Sorry Ive been away a little more than usual but the chemo I take now has slowed me up quite a bit. Want to wish you a terrific weekend and a comfy one. Prayers for the turmoil happening in the world and Gods comfort and wisdom.....George
The sun is shining! The ice is melting! It is Friday! Softball and Baseball games will be on later today. What a glorious day God has made. I already had calls from 2 friends that shared stories of miracles of their answered prayers. We will be cold again tomorrow and hopefully after that a warm up is on the way.
What do you do when it doesn't get above freezing for two days and one more to go? Well, I worked in the computer room. Got 7 year old taxes ready to shred, filed paperwork, threw away old boxes to be recycled, paid bills (until I ran out of money) and now I need to eat something today as it is almost Friday!
Yes! We are having another ICE storm. So many wrecks on the main roads that have overpasses. But today there is school and the buses are running. Go figure! We are at 24 with freezing rain and snow. It will be mid Friday before our temperatures are above freezing.
We had a great weekend. My kids came over yesterday afternoon. That is Michelle (now 13) in a panoramic picture in three different places on the fence/gate.
Wayne got all the broken branches from the ice storm and all our trees in the backyard trimmed up. Boy, what a difference! Then we watched all the videos from the Josh Turner concert before they left.
Praying you had a blessed weekend and enjoy this President's Day as well. Stay warm as the next front is sure to be on the way. Come on Spring!
Seems like this winter we have seen all 4 seasons almost every week. Sure hope you are enjoying your weekend. We have watched a lot of sports... Longhorn softball, Longhorn baseball, Longhorn basketball (both women and men). That means Spring is getting closer.
Hoping my kids show up today after their late night Josh Turner concert. Also, I am saying a prayer for you.
We should have a beautiful day. Guess I will uncover and move out plants to get sunshine. Then Tuesday redo before the wintery mix gets here. My kids are going to Billy Bob's tonight to see Josh Turner in concert. It starts at 10 pm. I love his music and his gospel album.
Hope you have a nice long weekend and enjoy President's Day. I am hoping that my kids come over on Sunday. We could surely use help with the down limbs from our ice storm. Besides, I want to hear all about the birthday sleepover and concert. Don't forget to share your smile with everyone you meet as you never know what burdens others are carrying.
Back to adding lots of layers today. It has steadily dropped temperatures all day and I keep putting on more clothes. You can hear the wind whipping out there. We will be near 80 on Monday and have freezing rain on Wednesday. This winter is CRAZY!
Mid 70's today and low 20's tomorrow night. Yesterday and today the winds are 40+ mph. Sinuses are awful. But...
We voted in the Texas Primary (early voting) today. Hubby also bought a bigger and wider pair of shoes to fit his tender toes today. So we are back and settled in, waiting for precious drops of rain that are desperately needed to put out wildfires during this windy and dry spell.
Happy valentines day to you. Had another round of chemo Friday and it slowed me down a little but ready to roll again.Wishing you a beautiful week to enjoy......George
Now that that tune is stuck in your head... we were 70's yesterday and we are 39 and dropping today with light rain and possible snow and 30+ mph winds. Can you say Burrrr?
From shorts to snowsuits again. At least I was smart enough to move and cover plants yesterday. That wind is miserable out there today.
So dogs are all in, actually in Hubby's lap curled up and ready for a nap. I am trying to decide what sounds good to eat during our cold snap.
It is a perfect day for cooking and cleaning as both of them warm you up. I hope you have a blessed weekend and share your smile with others.
I have such mixed emotions about not working almost full time vs now only a couple of days a month. I love working for Kelly and love all the clients. Edward Jones is a wonderful place to work. The new full time girl is so sweet and such a fast learner.
At the same time, it is nice to be home and get things done here too. I got taxes dropped off. Hubby got the pins out of toes and is out of the boot. I have been to Costco, the grocery store, and of course Suburban Plants for eucalyptus plants.
Plants have been uncovered for a couple of days but today some get the plastic put back over them again in my makeshift greenhouse and the tall ones go back into the garage. We will have one or two nights just below freezing even though we are in the mid 70's today and will be back to the 60's a few days next week.
So since it is almost noon, I guess I had better get busy around here. I do have to change my nails soon and get rid of hearts as our Primary early voting starts on Monday and we will vote sometime next week. So Red, white and blue of some kind will be my next theme.
