didnt soak seed can cloth in vinegar last night and sure enough the coons
removed the bricks atop can and the lid and was on ground this AM!  So
proof the vinegar cloth deters them.  Judy brings in groceries this afternoon
and will ammonia on rag tonight..

raccoon used the trash can as a jump off platform to hop onto tray feeder

last night..it was hanging by 1 wire this morning and all seed gone from it.
clever little critters!  Will have to move the seed can away from feeders!

Finally is sunny and no rain today and Monday..course is steamy and humid so must run

ACs but am so glad is not gloomy and overcast.

The apple cider vinegar soaked cloth atop the trash can seems to be deterring the raccoon!  3
nights in a row with no raid!  Cardinals and Robins are eating the cut up red grapes
and fly away with them as well,, perhaps to feed babies.  Orioles still feasting on grape
jelly but have had to keep replacing it as rain dilutes it and they wont eat it when watery.

I prepped ground last night by arbor where i used to train up cherry tomatoes and am going to try cantelope there this year and grow it vertically,  Had a volunteer come up in compost
pile years ago and vine up on the fence so know can do it... and they taste so much better
 than store bought ones.  But am going to have to put up short fence around it as cats like 
to poop in freshly dug dirt!  Will wait till evening after sun goes down to work outside.

Calif son Mark called and chatted few minutes ago,  Said he saw a crow "commit suicide" [lol]
yday by jumping in front of car that hit him,,,said he looked old and sick.

Rainy off and on here all day.. sun and 80s Sun and Monday

they say,  I am so tired of all this rain and welcome the sun even if it
does get humid and steamy!

Just little tasks done today...a load of laundry, cleaned out frig of
leftovers, cut up grapes for the birds and put out more jelly, the trash can
with vinegar cloth atop it deterred raccoons again last night .. hope that
continues..  most of the iris are blooming now and peonies are starting to open
up too... but too bad the rain weighs them down!

Overcast again with rain chance..creeks rising..

Last night I sprayed the entire trash can with apple cider vinegar and put a cloth soaked
in it atop 4 bricks on top of the can per a you tube suggestion,,. All is still there this morning,, dont know if it worked'or
if the coon wasnt here last night lol  It also says ammonia may work as smells like urine
to the coons.,  Will have Judy get me a big jug of it and save my vinegar.

While watching coons on YT also saw some cute vids of baby bears playing on
a hammock in  a back yard,,then found several more vids of same thing in several
diff states.. seems most bears enjoy hammocks!

 the coons are so clever and smart, they had one showing how a coon
managed to remove a bungee cord from a lid and get into the trash can!

the coons are only out ar night so I never see them..called brother to see if he can rig up a motion detector light,,they dont like light.
