Amazing how Monday just shows up on a regular basis. I have successfully ignored the morning. Well, I have made some calls and paid some bills and looked at several websites (shopping, Not shopping) and now it is afternoon.
Hubby got the front watered this morning. We were about 100° yesterday and will be again today... but tomorrow our high will be 82° with lows in the mid 50's. Yippee Yahoo.
Even though we have almost no chance of rain, we will keep watering and say, "Thank You Lord for the blessings of cooler temperatures." I know the hummingbirds are migrating through South Texas. My friends there sent videos of 10 or more hummers at their feeder at one time. It was so hot here that I just took a video of my hummingbird sitting near and protecting the feeders.
So guess I had better go find something for lunch. Something else that is amazing is how often my tummy growls to indicate that it is time to eat again... every day.
May you have a pleasant autumn week watching the leaves change on the trees. Such a beautiful site to enjoy. Puts a smile on my face and a twinkle in my eye seeing the beauty of the season of fall entering in as summer starts to fade out. My , my how I enjoy all the four seasons. Smiles Gloria
Thursday I was busy cleaning out all the water features for the birds and giving the hummingbirds new food. We are still quite warm during the day (start day in low 70's) and plants are still needing water every other day.
Hopefully we say goodbye to Summer Fairy and hello to cooler temperatures during the day and early morning too. Let's try it, Hello Fall Fairy!
Right now, the only leaves falling are because the trees need a good soaking of rain. But at 15% chance next week, that isn't too promising. Then came..
As soon as I told Hubby that I needed a shower, my phone rang and it was Tisha. She was running late dropping off her 1st grader and told him to hurry. He tripped over the curb and did a faceplant.
He did not want to go to school. Besides, he would definitely have trouble seeing.
As you can tell by his glasses. They got new glasses ordered and she kept putting ointment on his cheek. By the end of the day I could hear him laughing at something on the iPad. When I got home, Bennett and his family came to the backyard for a visit.
So now here I am wishing you a blessed weekend as I am heading off to watch more football after Thursday night & Friday nights exciting games.
OK... so it isn't the football fairy... close though, right?
My goodness this week sure went by fast while enjoying ones moments of life. May you have a glorious day and peaceful weekend that is coming up.
I am at the moment having some Green Mountain seasonal Maple Pecan flavored coffee to make my day abit more special. I believe I need to head to the store and find some of the maple cookies to go along with the coffee. I can taste them right now , one of my favorite cookies as fall comes in and shows it beauty. Smiles Gloria
Well, Cheryl, Fall is nearly upon us. It is a lovely season to enjoy and the colours are magnificent. Up here it arrives sooner than yours and, as long as the snow stays away, we can enjoy it for quite a while. Hugs, Anne
At least I hope it has for you. It starts out a little bit cooler each morning but we are still in the 90's almost every day. In the sun it is not sweater weather but sweaty weather!
And I know Hubby is sweating in the early morning heat. I love that he is always looking for something to do. He got the Marten house cleaned out the other day just in case any birds want a place to nest.
Hey now, I was busy yesterday too. Football nails are now on! And I have Halloween nails and Election nails and then it will be Christmas nails. I do love ColorStreet nails. They are so easy to put on and take off! Thanks to my friends, JoyDoll (NOTH) and Ashlee.
So as I send lots of Blessings your way and remind you to share your smile, I am off to find something wonderful for our meal of the day (then we snack later). I took pork chops, ribeyes, and hamburger patties out of the freezer to thaw. So today might be something with Fried Rice and Spring Rolls.
I will probably see what action is happening in the backyard too and make sure Hubby hasn't melted yet.
Well, here it is already Monday afternoon, but the yard has been mowed by me and Hubby has trimmed a tree, cut up the branches, cleaned out the Martin house, put up new fly catchers, and I'm sure several other things.
Hubby just went to run through the shower and told me that I needed to do that too... like maybe he could smell me. We have beautiful dark clouds today. We might get a sprinkle for tropical storm Nicholas but we are on the dry side. However, friends and family from the border (Mission) to Corpus Christi to Houston are predicted to get 6-12" of rain. The winds are only 70 mph now and are not expected to be much more than that.
Guess I had better find my water and figure out what our meal of the day will be today. Can't wait to see what your weekend was like and what plans you have for this middle of the month already. Time seems to fly by faster and faster the older we get. Don't forget to share your smile because there are lots of people out there looking for it.
Hubby and I thought it was Saturday all day today. We went to Bass Pro to buy bullets. Then we ate lunch at WhatABurger. We stopped by Costco to get gas in my car and decided we would go in and get a bag of Scotts Weed & Feed for the yard in case we ever have a chance for rain.
If I had this grill on my SUV, do you think when I honked my horn at stupid drivers they would move out of the way faster? My last solo trip to town, I honked my horn at least 6 times.
It was an extremely busy morning beginning at about 5:15... Bella wanted out of the crate, in & out the doggie door, potty, drink water, try to get any of the other 4 dogs to play, chase toys across the floor... You know, just puppy stuff for a one year old. But before we could leave to run errands, I had to go outside and throw the flat, tug-a-war, squeaky squirrel so Carly ran and chased Bella with it all over the back yard. Nothing like peace and quiet when it is nap time.
So now I am off to the neighbors to collect fresh eggs from the 5 chickens that lay eggs daily and check on the other chickens that haven't started laying eggs yet.
This was Bennett at WalMart, as they were shopping for their weekend trip, he found a praying mantis in the store. He LOVES bugs!
Then I need to read some of Book #8 in my current series, Three Rivers Ranch Romance. And watch the hummingbirds, butterflies, and other birds (not bugs).
