Temp is up to 46 and snow is starting to melt. Sure makes a soul feel good to think spring! Have laundry started and will be making some egg salad and fruit salad in a little bit. Saying prayers for your wife to recover soon and be back home with you! Hugs, Nancy
The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the plants are blooming (at least indoors). Christmas cactus has been blooming; the red just dropped it blooms and the apricot is getting close to dropping some blooms. The poinsettia is trying to survive.
But the orchids are putting out buds and starting to bloom. Isn't God's timing perfect? I got bills paid today and hummingbird food cooling. Breakfast/Lunch is also finished. So I'm off to find my next project. Let me know what you are getting into today.
Still plenty of snow laying around but the warm-up this week should take care of a lot of it. Next concern is flooding as there is ice under the snow. Glad you got some electric back and hope the water supply is too. I hope your weather is kind to you and your day is just lovely! Hugs, Nancy
Today my girls are heading back to school after a week of playing in the snow, a week of not much electricity and a weekend of Birthday fun. But some schools aren't open because of water damage from busted pipes. There are still people without power and without water. However, we were 74 yesterday and the snow has melted. A cool front came through and we started at 30 but we will only be mid 60's today.
What a fun weekend for my youngest grand, as Michelle turned 12. Above is Michelle and Nicole at Obstacle Warrior Kids. They played dodgeball with the younger kids, ran obstacle courses, and climbed walls. What fun to know they are in great shape and to watch them compete with each other.
We are uncovering our plants today but not looking forward to rain this week as we have water standing everywhere from the snow melt. We are also hoping that the shelves are stocked enough that we can find a few things on our grocery list today. Don't forget to share your smile!
Gosh George so sorry you got hit. Been seeing pix of the damage and the poor souls freezing without food or water. Yes, we Canuks live with these possibilities and get used to it (sorta). The day I gave birth to my eldest daughter I had to help my hubby dig out the car! I was in Montreal then which would have real doozies of snow storms. I got caught in the great storm in N.Y in '58 when everything was at a standstill - Times Square was deserted not a soul about. Do stay safe and warm. Hugs, Anne
My heart is breaking for people that still don't have electricity even though most people do have power. Now the problem is water! So many friends and people without water to drink, to boil, to SHOWER! And so many with water damages to clean up in their homes and storage units because of pipes busting. So I thought that I would share with you.
We are doing some clean up around here too but nothing serious. We are grateful to be able to wash clothes. Really need to see if the cars still start too. So whatever you are doing, please enjoy and make the most of it.
