Hubby and I thought it was Saturday all day today. We went to Bass Pro to buy bullets. Then we ate lunch at WhatABurger. We stopped by Costco to get gas in my car and decided we would go in and get a bag of Scotts Weed & Feed for the yard in case we ever have a chance for rain.
If I had this grill on my SUV, do you think when I honked my horn at stupid drivers they would move out of the way faster? My last solo trip to town, I honked my horn at least 6 times.
It was an extremely busy morning beginning at about 5:15... Bella wanted out of the crate, in & out the doggie door, potty, drink water, try to get any of the other 4 dogs to play, chase toys across the floor... You know, just puppy stuff for a one year old. But before we could leave to run errands, I had to go outside and throw the flat, tug-a-war, squeaky squirrel so Carly ran and chased Bella with it all over the back yard. Nothing like peace and quiet when it is nap time.
So now I am off to the neighbors to collect fresh eggs from the 5 chickens that lay eggs daily and check on the other chickens that haven't started laying eggs yet.
This was Bennett at WalMart, as they were shopping for their weekend trip, he found a praying mantis in the store. He LOVES bugs!
Then I need to read some of Book #8 in my current series, Three Rivers Ranch Romance. And watch the hummingbirds, butterflies, and other birds (not bugs).
Hello friends, first of all I would like to thank all of you who keep writing to me. Thanks from my heart. On day one I had an accident, and I am quite damaged ... I have broken the shoulder and humerus of the left arm, in addition to several bruises, on the 14th I had surgery. I'll be offline for a long time. Thank you very much for your friendship. When I can I will return. Take care of yourselves ... Many kisses to all. Isabel.
Estare bastante tiempo desconectada. Muchas gracias por vuestra amistad. Cuando pueda volveré. Cuidaos mucho...Muchos besos a todos. Isabel.
Guess what! I am excited. Yes we are going to be mid 90's today, BUT there is a hint of fall in the air. Rain is all around us, not quite here yet. We are hopeful that we get a little bit as the yard in the back is very dry in the hot spots. But not a drop for us today.
First thing every morning I look outside to see if there is color in the sky. Again, guess what... it was there today. You know how I love to take pictures. So look how our day started.
So now we are off to the feed store for more dog food and just happen to pass by the Mexican Food restaurant for some Wednesday enchilada special to bring home for lunch.
Don't forget to share that smile if you are out and about today and that I am sending Blessings & Hugs your way.
I can't tell you how much we are enjoying Bella, the dog. If none of my dogs want to play, Bella just plays by herself. She will take toys out the doggie door and later bring them back inside. Last night she found a tennis ball in the toy basket and played with it for an hour. She would put it on the couch, jump up on the couch, push it off with her nose, and then run to get it as it bounced across the tile floor.
And that is all it takes to be happy. I hope you are finding what makes you happy today and doing it. I went to Costco and to Kroger for groceries on our list and got them all put away. I even baked a Braum's Cherry Pie (from frozen). I made Lemon Cream Cheese Bars yesterday for my hubby. I also made Broccoli & Apple Salad with Yogurt but we haven't eaten it yet.
So now I am heading outside to throw something and watch Bella, Carly, Reba, J Lo, and Miss Kitty either chase it or just turn and look at me wondering when I am going to go pick it up.
The long weekend is almost over and it has not cooled off at all in Texas. My goodness it is still hot, humid and miserable outside.
I sure hope that you found time to just chill and to recharge between hurricanes, tornados, fires, flooding and just the fun times of getting older. We have to be tough to survive!
So as I am sitting here counting my blessings and just want you to know that your name is included on my list.
So now I am headed to the magical, mystical ranch in the book I am reading because that is my way of "Chillin'".
Bella is visiting for a week and Carly is so excited. They ran and ran and ran in the big backyard for over 30 minutes and were exhausted yesterday. This morning they played some inside and then Bennett came over and Bella would fetch every toy he would throw and bring it back to him.
And yes, she can jump the baby gate! She is very smart and knows to sit and lay and understands most things we say to her. We are still learning each other's routines.
Bella is a good dog with kids and other dogs. She is also very good on a leash. I worked on Friday, so we are now ready for some Football... love College football. We are also waiting on cooler weather and maybe a chance at a shower. However, we have already watered the front and the back this morning.
It is a long weekend for lots so enjoy that extra day of doing nothing on LABOR DAY.
Yesterday there was so much bird activity in our backyard... Hummingbirds, Blue Jays, Mockingbirds, Chickadees, Butterflies, Wasps, Cardinals, Wrens
They were fighting over one birdbath (I only have 3) and feeders (again 3 or more). Seems like they knew, even though the temperature was near 100, that September had arrived.
The Mockingbird and the Blue Jay were pecking at each other over one bird bath when another bird bath was 4 feet away.
So be kind and share your smile. There is so much beauty to behold in our world and so many great memories of friends and family.
That is what we did yesterday! We went to visit our kids and filled our souls with life. Last year we got to see Nicole play Volleyball only on FaceTime as masks and social distancing were in place. Yesterday we got to see Michelle play her first volleyball game with students, parents and grandparents all in the stands cheering on both teams. It was a fast and furious and loud game.
Michelle, serving, is so tiny that they don't let her play the 3 positions at the net and gave her the #1 jersey. As a family the girls have played volleyball for years, but I don't think any of us know all the rules. We are going to try to go back on Thursday to see Nicole play.
I sure hope you are going to unexpected places to enjoy life, especially with family, because you never know what tomorrow will bring. And when we get to Lake Ray Hubbard and know that we are almost back home, our hearts are filled with love.
We went to fill the car up with gas and pick up Tacos for lunch and shared our smiles and a blessing with others today. Sure hope you share your smile with others too because so many people are hurting for their loved ones.
