I hope you have a nice weekend I thought it would be fun to see what people had for a first car. Now mine was driving my older brothers car a 53 Plymouth with a 3 speed trasmission on the steering column. My luck though I wrecked it on day of the night I was to have the lead comedy roll in the High School Junior play. But amazingly I got a ride into town had my hair done and was on stage that night I wasn't hurt at all can't say the same for the car. In fact for so many reason I could have been dead. I remember praying as the car was rolling over"God be with me" He sure was the worst I got some stickers in my clothes. The door flung open I had my seat belt on and an old radio that was on the floor flung off and could have hit me in the head it weighted about 50 lbs. If my head hadn't been back looking at the top of the car praying as I was going over it could have killed me. But as it was all things worked fine. I even went to the cast party afterwards. But the real first car I had was a 1958 Chevy Biscayne Green and light green. But was that a cool car and I didn't wreck it. Loved that car. Oh I was 16 at the time of the accident and also when I got the 58 Chevy. So now if you would like to share what was your first car???
Where oh where did this week go? And in just 10 more days the month will be over! What the heck have I been doing all month and what did I get accomplished?
All I really know is that I have NOT missed a meal. OK, the other thing I know is that the hot temperatures are back! Our dew point has been 76-79 all week. Who was it that said our humidity probably isn't as bad here (DFW) as it is where they live?
Let the weekend begin. Tell me, do you have plans? My plans are to survive all this stuff going on right now. So the party is at our house. Come on over. But don't forget to bring your smile.
We've had rain all week and a few fast moving storms. It did cool us down but by the weekend we're back to the 90's. I've noticed the days are already getting shorter!
We are getting lots of rain... lots! So as I get on my new, fast, beautiful Orange iMac to look for a rain picture... this one comes up... OK, all dressed up... however I am still in my nighty today. Hubby has been to town twice and I have been doing ??? something in here... Oh, I erased the old computer of all my stuff and reinstalled the operating system and it is now ready for my son to pick up.
So I guess this is as dressed up as I will get today since it is already mid afternoon. I can hardly wait to find out what you have been doing. We had several showers the last 3 days. They were all light with no wind or storms and each one was only a tenth or two. Today is pouring down.
So how about we just play dress up? We could show off our fancy clothes to each other. And as some of you know, I really don't cook much. So after we get all dressed up, we will have to get out in the rain to go somewhere to eat and show ourselves off.
So now I'm off to dig through my closet and see if I can find something other than T-shirts and denim. Hubby said as he was leaving a store today, he encountered a Vet with a Service Dog. He told him what a beautiful dog he had. The Vet said thank you. As Hubby noticed his Veteran cap, he said, No, thank you for your service. The Vet said that means a lot, especially today. So again, I ask you to share your smile because you never know what the other person is going through. I hope I put a smile on your face!
Thank you for your note Debijo and yes you are right there are natural disasters that occur in just about every state. I lived in Florida most of my life and went through several hurricanes. Never experienced a tornado thankfully. Yes that must have been so awful last year the fires out there and so many lost so much. I can't even imagine. And one usually gets too much or too little rain in a years time. Good you normally have rains in the spring and hope they return next year. In the meantime praying for rain out your way for sure and for all the brave firefighters. Take care. Jackie
Yippee Yahoo! What a blessed day I am having. My doctor saw the amount of movement I have on the right side of my face above the eye and said he expects 100% movement to be returned within the year. He was very pleased with the healing and that it was benign. I do use a combination of 3 essential oils that I inhale and rub over the right side of my face, ear and neck.
I just finished mowing our 3/4 acre yard and it is beautiful now. I am ready for another shower should it choose to happen to rain right on top of us!
And of course, I am blessed by your friendship. Friends mean the world to me. Doesn't matter how often we text or post or email or call, what matters is in your mind and on your heart. Share your smile always!
SAME TAG AGAIN BUT WANTED TO ANSWER YOUR COMMENT FROM LAST WEEK, AT LEAST SOME OF IT.

HOPE SOON FOR SOME RAIN WHICH REALLY IS NOT IN SIGHT FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH. IMAGINE LIVING IN THE RAIN FOREST AND NO RAIN.
YES I HAD WONDERED HOW YOUR MOTHER WAS AND GLAD TO HEAR SHE IS COMING ALONG. IT IS SO HARD WHEN YOU ARE OLDER. THINGS SEEM TO PILE ON TOP OF YOU AND ONE GETS OVERWHELMED. AN ASSISTED LIVING PLACE SOUNDS GOOD FOR HER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE AROUND IN CASE SHE IS NOT WELL. THAT IS A SENSE OF PEACE FOR SURE. I WISH HER THE BEST. Hello friends! We watched all of our online church services and now we are watching some of the little league baseball playoffs. We ended up with 1.3" of rain from yesterday. Just perfect! One extra loud clap of thunder rattled the windows and scared Hubby and the dogs (they were all taking a nap).
Monday, tomorrow, I go for my 4 month checkup since I had the cyst removed from in front of my right ear. I will let you know how it goes. I still can't believe that after my surgery visit he said, "See you in 4 months."
It is time for our luncheon meal of the day. Today is Ribeye steak and french fries in coconut oil in the deep fryer with probably fresh spinach steamed. Come on over, but you better hurry because there won't be much left very soon!
Worked inside first thing this morning and then went outside. I have already sweated down twice. Don't know how Hubby does it! It is so humid and the dew point is way too high which makes it worse.
Yesterday Carly had a playdate with Bella, an Australian shepherd. They had so much fun. Bella came to meet all four of our dogs. She is probably going to stay a week in September with us.
My son just called on FaceTime and the front has made it to his house (about an hour from us) and it is pouring down rain. He said the wind started blowing and the temperature dropped about 10 degrees. I can hardly wait for it to get here. My friends in Lubbock got 2.5" last night.
I set up my new iPad about 2 weeks ago and almost have my new 24" ORANGE iMac set up the way I want it. Now I am off to find something for lunch. Don't forget to share your smile with everyone you see today.
Work was super busy yesterday and that is just the way I like it. Makes the day go by so fast! And I love helping my boss and clients so much!
Thanks so much for stopping by while I couldn't get here to visit with you. It means the world to me. Hubby is outside treating the posts on the gate and then going to trim the Juniper tree at the mailbox because the mail truck hits the lower limbs.
As soon as I am finished reading your comments I will be on my iphone with Apple and my iMac. Wish me luck with the stress of it all.
Just a note to touch base, haven't been on here for awhile. Hope you had a great weekend, hard to believe it is over already. Just don't know where the time goes, it just zips by way too fast. Anyway, hope all is well your way. Have a good night and a great week~~~ hugs, debijo
And to answer your question about the fires. They are not real close, maybe 1/2 hr to an hour drive away. Nothing like last year where we had to evacuate work due to the fires. But it has been pretty smokey here. Just hoping they get the fires out soon.
is there a rainy season there at all? Is this an unusual dry year or this is expected every year? Glad you are not near them but I can imagine the smoke 😞
