Hi Jackie, thanks for your note. The smoke here is much better now thank you.. The fire is still burning in Canyonville by mile post 97 and is 45% contained as of a couple of hours ago. It has burned 13085 acres now. Guess the wind has shifted and is now blowing the smoke elsewhere. There are a couple more fires burning close by but aren't very big at this point. Keeping all the firefighters in my thoughts and prayers. You take care and have a great weekend.. hugs, debijo
Thank you also Debijo. I just cannot fathom the fires out West. I grew up in Central Florida and had to deal with the hurricanes from age 5 to 2015 when I moved back up to my hometown in Western NY. I have a niece who lives in Chico California are and she and her husband had to evacuate their home last November as the fire was getting very close to their home. I guess wherever one lives there are things we get accustomed too dealing with although not pleasant at times. And we will always keep the first responders in prayers. Take care my friend and have a nice Sunday. Hugs, Jackie
Hi there Debijo. hope you have had a good weekend and guess you will be back to the grind again in the morning. It has surely been hot here (at least for me ) going up to the high 90's tomorrow, don't like it but know you would thrive in that. LOL Too bad you have that fire and smoke blowing your way.
The lady I had here has now left and I am back to the usual things around here. was nice that I could help her out and nice to be alone again and on my own. One has to consider the company before doing anything else which is what I do. I just hope she won't need any more chemo in the near future but we never know about those things do we?
You will be busy doing the peaches and stone fruits now. Guess that will go on for some time too. The pears will be your next thing to do. everything has its season doesn't it?
I really don't have any news from up here except that I got a letter in the mail (post) from a dear old friend for many years. She wrote to thank me for my friendship through all the years and that she has been diagnosed with cancer that is not operable and she only has a couple of months to live. I was just devestated and taken aback that she would write to thank me for our friendship for so many years. I don't know how she did it but I wrote her back right away (post) - now what do you say to someone like that. vrey few people would do that I am sure. My heart felt so sorry for her but I admired her at the same time. I hope she has a peaceful transition and her hubby is there for her so that is one good thing. will ask my Brother who lives in the same city to send me the obituary.
Not a nice note to end on but think that is all for this time Deb. see you soon and have a good week. Much love and many hugs MoeXX
Hello Moe, how are you doing this fine Sunday afternoon? I hope all is well your way. Are you having some good weather? I hope so that way you are able to get out for your walks that you so enjoy. It has been in the mid to upper 90's here which isn't too bad. Although the last few days have been pretty smokey from a fire that is burning in Canyonville about 70 miles North of here. The wind is blowing the smoke South to us. Hopefully it won't last too long. Makes it really hard on those with breathing problems, allergies, and asthma.
Anyway, what have you been up to? Do you still have the lady staying with you that is going through treatments? Nice of you to open your home to her to make it easier for her to get to her appointments.
Oh, you are right, I did not want to go back to work after being off for 3 and a half weeks. I was really dreading it the day before I had to go. It was a really busy week and will probably be pretty busy this coming week. We are doing the peach pack and other stone fruit like the plums and nectarines. I actually got 4 hours of overtime in for the week. The big pear harvest starts in less than a month and we will be packing up all the gifts for Christmas sales. Then the over-time will really start.
And yes it was so nice to actually win for a change at the Casino. Seems I always do better at the one on the Coast but we don't go there but once a year cause it is a 2.5 hour drive over there and part of the drive is a very curvy road. Then have the long drive back afterwards. I won there when we went last year also. We went to the one up North last Friday and I didn't win a darn thing lol... It is actually right by where the fire is burning now. Anyway our Casino going days are pretty much over since it is getting busier at work so I won't really have the time. And before we know it Winter will be here lol. Well, I suppose I have rambled on long enough for now. Need to go throw a load of laundry in and do up some dishes and vacuum. I will be in touch again probably next weekend. You take care of yourself, enjoy the rest of your day and have a great week~~~~ love and hugs, debijo
just a note to say hello.. Hope all is well your way and you are enjoying your weekend. It has been pretty smokey here the last few days. There is a fire burning about 70 miles away in Canyonville OR and the wind is blowing all the smoke south to us. Hopefully it won't last too long. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a great week. ~~~ debijo
Hi Debijo, So sorry to hear about that fire. I hope by now the air is better for you in your area and for those in Canyonville. I had not heard of that one and sure hope it is contained. My thoughts go out to all the firefighters too. Hugs, Jackie
