Hello my friend & hope you survived the strong storms the other night. We had some high winds that caused a little damage but nothing severe & only a little rain but the winds were up to 60mph for awhile . Getting ready for some more heat starting today so it's time for river or lake swims. Enjoy the happy hump day & rest of week...........George
We visited Fattoria il Poggio, a farmhouse in Montecarlo in the province of Lucca in Tuscany. The farm, rooted in Tuscany and managed by the Rossi family since 1963, welcomes visitors from all over the world. The farm produces wine and extra virgin olive oil. Inside the farm is a restaurant open for lunch and dinner and welcomes you with the best dishes, obviously accompanied by their wine and their oil!
Geralyn took this video as we traveled through the canals of Venice on a gondola! Geralyn normally doesn't do the videos but she wanted to capture me and the view of the canals from her perspective.
Dropping by to say hi.. Hope you are doing well and having a great weekend so far. It will be over before we know it. Hopefully you are enjoying some nice weather as well. Our weather has been like a yo-yo, was in the 90's then dropped to upper 60's Thurs, Fri, Sat. Now starting today will be back up in the 90's and 100 by Tuesday. Guess summer is here. Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of your day and have a great week~~ hugs, debijo
John and I were excited to ride the gondola in Venice! It was a beautiful day to ride through the canals of Venice. Our gondola ride was at least 45 minutes long!
Geralyn and I were fascinated by the skill of this glass artist. And, he was a very nice fellow! So, if you are interested in the designing of glass art, you'll enjoy watching this video from Murano, Italy.
Venetian glass is thought to have been made for over 1,500 years, and production has been concentrated on the Venetian island of Murano since the 13th century. Today Murano is known for its art glass, but it has a long history of innovations in glass-making in addition to its artistic fameāand was Europe's first major glass-making center.
A happy weekend to you & hope the was good to you . We were lucky the last go around of storms skipped by us but close by had some strong damaging winds & heavy rain. This coming Monday we made a lifetime vow to each other 63 years ago and we know that as the years go by our time together grows shorter but daily our love for each other grows even more. Have a terrific weekend my friend & take care.....George
John and I booked an extra day before our tour started so we decided to explore the city of Venice on our own! Our hotel was in the most desirable location! We were able to walk miles from our hotel and had beautiful scenery along the entire route!
Venice is a very unusual and old city. John and I arrived one day before the tour began so we had an extra day to explore the city on our own. Our arrival from the Marco Polo Airport was an unexpected 25 minute boat ride to our hotel, which is right on the Grand Canal. Our hotel bellman had to take our suitcases from a very rocky boat. Once we registered at the hotel, we exited to the street side which has 100's of shops and restaurants! The basic transportation here are large boat taxis. We had a chance to stroll along the streets and the Grand Canal for a few hours and the weather was sunny and pleasant! We did get a few hours rest before we went out for supper. Venice is 7 hours ahead of CDT in the U.S.A.
Geralyn and I returned from Italy late last night. I will add additional pictures and videos from time to time. We had a great time but it is also nice to be back home.
Good day to you & happy hump day. Last day of school so will be going easy for awhile. Been having trouble with the internet going out & having to restart almost daily & causing our tv to go out or buffer a lot as we now have Roku & Hulu instead of cable so went to the provider store got a new modem & have had no problems since , Guess the other one just got tired but it was pretty old , Hope the week is doing good for you so enjoy the rest of it & stay happy..........George
