After several weeks of very high and gusty winds (my hair looked worse than that), it is a calm, cloudy, foggy, overcast morning again here for the second day in a row. I know in the middle of summer, we will miss the wind but for right now it is a welcome change since we are only at 63° at 10 am. We are hoping for some soaking rains for all of Texas that is still in the drought stage.
So rain or shine (or cloudy), cool or warm, whatever your day is like today, may Blessings and Hugs be in store for you. I hope you will share your smile and make others really wonder what is going on in your head.
What a difference a day makes! What a blessing from God! We were 97 yesterday after lunch, then it dropped to 74 mid afternoon. Today we started at 60 today and at noon we were only 62! We only got 1/10" of rain but we lost electricity from 10pm until 11:30 pm just as the storms got near us.
It will sure make watering the plants this week much more enjoyable with 4 days below 80°. So I am sharing my Blessings and Hugs with you. Grab them!
If we are in the 90's tomorrow, it will tie a record of 15 days in a row in May. Then we are due a cool front and will wake up Sunday morning in the 50's and have several days only in the 70's. Woo Hoo!
Already got the yard mowed this morning because you know what is coming tonight, tomorrow night, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday... possible RAIN. Let the grass begin to grow.
At our place, the sun and rain also mean more flowers! So I am sharing this one with you. I took this picture yesterday evening in our front flower bed. Now time to go watch for all the birds and especially Hummingbirds which I will also share with you! Blessings & Hugs!
Good Thursday Morning! It is almost Friday and time for the weekend. This hot month of May has flown by.
We spent most of the day yesterday in the yard. I know, I know, you are surprised and shocked. I put up 3 new wind spinners (the one above came from Costco). The 3 older ones that I have had for many years, I took apart, spray painted, and reassembled.
So now I am heading out to water all the wilting plants from our mid 90's for almost 10 days so that the bees and hummingbirds will pollinate all the flowers.
Voted✅ Tahoe washed, inspected, & registered✅ Bought Milk✅ Ate Tacos✅ Bought groceries✅ Costco list completed✅ Put together 2 new Wind Spinners for yard✅ It was a successful day!
So be on the lookout for what this Hump Day will bring your way. I am grateful for your precious friendship. Now I am off to smell the flowers.
Blessings of rain to start the new week. We ended up with almost 1-1/2" rain. Of course, it was from 10 pm to 4 am with high winds, thunder and lightning. So one dog vibrated the entire night. Of course she is sound asleep now!
Early voting is this week only in Texas for the Party Runoff election and Election Day next Tuesday. We will probably vote tomorrow. Also our vehicle inspections and registrations are due this month and next month. So we have a busy week in store.
We have already had 10 days of over 90° in the DFW area for May with 5 more predicted. And several more high temperature records will be broken, 97°.
Hubby got a new belt on the lawn mower yesterday evening so I got the backyard mowed. Today he is already washing my car and will probably wash the orange Tahoe too.
Even after 2 cups of coffee, I am moving slowly. I walked around the backyard and decided I really need to spray for bugs. So I came in to the computer room instead. We are already 80 and have 7 days or more of mid 90's with light winds.
Now I can hardly wait to hear from you and see what you are doing this weekend. After all, just one more cup of coffee should get me started.
It has been a good day so far. We got several of our todos completed already. And yesterday at work was fun as always with Kelly there.
I can't believe how fast the weeds are growing. We just got mulch put down and here the weeds are peaking through. We are going to be in my mid 90's for the next 7 days. Where did Spring go? In a week or two, kids will be out of school! The beach will soon be crowded.
Well, whatever you are doing this weekend, have fun and share your smile. Hopeful Hubby will get the riding lawn mower deck cutting again. Guess I had better fix a late lunch or early dinner before I water my plants (note the milkweed in this picture for the Monarch butterflies).
I had to be outside real early this morning to catch this beautiful sunrise, 6:20 am. Now, don't be shocked, but I haven't been back outside since then. And even more shocking is that I cooked today.
Boneless, skinless chicken thighs and Carrot Zucchini Casserole from Allrecipes. I know, crazy good. But today I am feeling guilty because I work tomorrow. hehehe
Tomorrow while you are enjoying the day, I will have makeup and real clothes on (still in my gown now!) and Hubby will have leftovers! If I can save up enough $ to go to the grocery store and buy cabbage, my next recipe is from happygirl44, Shirley, called Cheesy Ritz Cabbage Casserole. I found one similar on RecipeLion. Of course it may be a while because I sure don't want everyone thinking that I often cook.
Thanks for being my friend and I'll be back in a day or two.
We had a wonderful, fun time with lots of laughter. I hope your Mother's Day was just as special. Just a couple more weeks and school will be out.
Today we are taking turns with the push mower on our 3/4 acre lot. Ok, I am taking turns on the gas self-propelled mower and Hubby is doing both gas and electric. It is very humid and warm for this fat girl.
Spent about 3 hours outside this morning, taking pictures, reading my kindle, talking to God, facetime with friends, and of course...
hummingbirds! That is one of my males. I also have several females. While sitting on the patio I heard lots of airplanes. I have an app called Flightradar24. I had more than 15 airplanes around our area at one time.
Nice weather and very little wind must have everyone out today. One that I clicked on said Dallas to Teterboro. So I followed the flight path and Teterboro is in New York. We have a helicopter repair business less than 2 miles from our house and so we always hear them coming and going. This app is lots of fun. Guess I had better go get our meal of the day cooking.
Sure wish you were here to relax and have a sip of lemonade. Blessings & Hugs! Thanks for your friendship!
We got another 6/10" rain today so that puts us over 3.5" for this week. What a way to start May! You can see the water standing in our creek that runs through our yard when we get lots of rain.
The worst part of a rainy day is doing inside chores instead of being outside with my hands in the dirt. At least I can take a break and visit with you; however, I hear that whip cracking. And I want to be able to finish before Friday gets here.
Happy Rose Day Wishes for Friends “Just the way rose is the most beautiful and special flower, you are the most special and dear friend to me…. Best wishes on Rose Day.” “I wish you a very warm and Happy Rose Day my dear friend and I wish that you are blessed with lots of love in your life Do not watch the petals fall from the rose with sadness, know that, like life, things sometimes must fade, before they can bloom again
My life is part humor, part roses, part thorns Love the life you have enjoy rthe rose with the thorns with out them in yourlife , you will never find true Love...
May the fourth be with you! I hope you had just a wonderful day. I bought a few groceries this morning and Hubby cut up some tree limbs to put in our trash can. Then we went to Elmo, Texas for lunch.
And we wanted to see the Transformer. So Elmo is just a spot in the road on an older highway (Hwy 80) that was replaced years ago with I-20. But we went for the cheeseburgers too!
Now we are waiting for more storms to move in between 10 pm and 4 am with rain possible through 3 pm tomorrow. Blessings & Hugs for you and your family as I am swimming off to find something else to do today. OK, as I go looking for Trouble, my middle name.
Most of the DFW area got rain last night and early this morning. We had 2" between 4:30 and 6 am. There was no sleeping through it as the thunder was loud and the dogs were NOT happy.
Now we have blue skies and it is a beautiful morning. We will have more rain over the next four days and by the weekend we will be in the mid 90's. WHAT? The wind is 20mph right now and the forecast says it will be windy tonight.
Let's just make this a great month no matter what the weather is and have some fun. School will be out soon and vacations will be happening.
Let the dancing and the blessings continue! So glad we are friends! Hugs!
May flowers! I have so many more than this group and love sharing them with you. Do you remember picking flowers for your Mom? I love the variety of flowering plants in my yard.
These are called Teal We Meet Again. Boy, look at those dry and old hands! You can surely tell they love working outside and need more hand cream. The mower was running again yesterday but Hubby is so sore all over his body.
Last night after 11 I was outside again taking pictures of some of my solar lights. Then I got up before 6 am to enjoy the cool front that got rid of our humidity (which was already back before noon). This reminds me, it is almost time for Texas Longhorn baseball.
May Day and Sunday blessings and hugs coming your way as I dance outside and back inside today. Hope you will join me!
