Good day & hope the week is doing fine even if you have snow & cold. Really got cold here but going to warm up a little. The wind was cold & blowing hard when I was at the school crossing yesterday but I was bundled up good which helped. Planning on putting up Christmas decorations this weekend as the wife is going in Tuesday for right knee replacement & will be laid up for a time. Happy hump day to you. A beautiful day here & waiting for the cool front to come in but not like some of you have. Had a trash truck at the school crossing turn the corner & the dump door was not secured & dumped a bunch of trash & garbage. He stopped ,called for a cleanup crew but what a mess with the people coming to school & traffic. Love smelling garbage & diesel smoke in the mornings. It is rainy today and a cold front is moving in where I am in upstate New York USA. But most of the trick and treaters were aware of it, so parties were held last weekend. I heard on the news that some were thinking of moving Halloween!! How do you move a Holiday lol.
Holloween was so named really All Hallows Eve way back in the day... which was the day before All Hallows Day which when this was started a long time ago Hallows were Holy or Saints Day which then became All Saints day. But somewhere a long the line All Hallows Eve became Halloween and All Hallows Day became All Saints Day, as the language changed. The day after All Saints Day which is the 1st of November, then the 2 nd of November is all Souls Day. That was a day that the Catholic church prayed for those that have departed and are in purgatory.

Closing out another month that went by fast. Getting a cold front coming in that will get us close to freezing temps so going to protect plants in case of frost. Afraid the trick or treaters are going to have rain & cold temps for Halloween. We bought a lot of candy but most of it is the kind we like so time will tell. Have a bootiful day.............George
Top of the morning my friend & wishing you a good weekend . Had a strong front come in Thursday night with strong winds & dumping seven inches of rain on us . Thankfully it had stopped before I got to the school crossing but wore my rain suit to be safe . Looks like other parts of the country are getting hit too . Spotted this in a drainage ditch yesterday morning

happy tuesday...very fall like here, had a visit from some wild turkeys this morning...good thing i had already filled the bird feeders, i always put some on the ground for the doves...so they were pretty happy, the blue jays on the other hand not so much, they sure can make a racket...wishing you a nice day...mk
