EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS*Monday*2013-8-5

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get in here and help selves to the goodies, if you can find any... Need to make a trip to the grocery store... been too busy to get there. I'M OUT OF CHOCOLATE! PANIC TIME FOR SURE! lolol

Now, y'all know that I have WATER! How bout yesterday, the thingy in the toilet tank went out! The TRUTH, so help me! G'cutter was out mowing and weed eating. Me, with my caftan hiked up around my hips, sitting on packets of toilet paper on the bathroom floor... using the adjustable side gripper pliers... removing the thingy in the tank.

I have a question to ask. How come it is that a person has to be bone thin (which I am not) and a contortionist (I gave this up for Lent a few years back) to get to the the movable parts??????????? There I am with legs wrapped around the base, trying to remove the movables by feel... I sure couldn't bend enuf to get my head down there to see. I've removed/replaced these little thingies before and, trust me, it hasn't gotten any easier over time. Later on, when G'cutter got finished with the grass... went to the hardware store and then installed the new one for me.

I'm afraid to ask "what next?", I am liable to find out... lolol

Lets' see here. Supposed to be in town tomorrow morning for a meeting. Having problems trying to find a ride. I don't want to cancel but I might need too. Another thing, I am looking for a German Shepherd pup...

Many moons ago, I always had a Shepherd... I even took Smokey to training school cause he was a little aggressive. Not to me or the family, but to outsiders. The instructor was a Vet who had trained the dogs and their handlers in the military. Vet decided Smokey didn't need any 'attack' training. He just needed to be trained to stop.
Truth again, so help me. Vet didn't like the way I was holding the lead. Put his hand on my arm and that quick, Smokey nailed him with a warning bite... no injuries but....

Anyway, I am back to German Shepherds... I cancelled but I am going to get another Pyrenees and maybe a little itty bitty dog to act as door keeper/bell. If I'm gonna be here on the mountain, I might as well be happy with my critters.

Pix below...Me in my 'statement' shirt. One of the fossils found in the creek - my pack of cigars to show scale and a painting showing one of my visual puns.

Guess that's it for now. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember never to mess with this old broad, she just might be your Karma!

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter. meems

Big dogs.  too big for me.. I am more of a cat lady never thought I would be that for sure. !!  never had animals as an adult but my daughters two cats needed a place to live when they would not get along with her BF pit bull and rot.  The dogs were just fine very well trained and very smart, they left the cats alone but the cats beat up on the dogs.  She l9oved her kities had them for nearly 11 years so I took them.  She still provides for them sends me money each  month for food, and fun, litter, and things cats need.

I got them drunk on some cat nip this afternoon.  WAs over at the other daughters house and she has a big patch of it growing in her garden so I put it in a fine mesh bag and threw the bag on the livingroom floor.  So right now they are all mellowed out, but look at me with their wild eyes.  LOL.

Ok meems.  talk to  you soon.  glad you got that toilet fixed.  Wont have to dig a latrine out back now.
