calm before the storm

wow what a busy day its been, not seemed to have stopped all day, up at 6am and still dark outside, as soon as light tended to the hens, (only have 3) then take the dogs for a walk, along the lanes you can see the Pennines, the snow from last week has almost gone, but where it still lay the wind was blowing it and wow what a wonderful sight. In the distance you could see the farmer bringing down the cattle which is not an unusual sight however this was not just one farmer but more than one, with the recent loss of so many sheep and cows being stolen in the area i put 2 and 2 together and got 12 i was so wrong, it seems we have a real cold spell hitting later in the week and they were bringing them down (well after last yr it makes sense).  After 2 hrs and 2 cups of tea, it was time to change the bedding before washing the car, then time to start dinner roast lamb with roast potatoes and cabbage, its now 3:35pm and still have so much to do but best of it is a few flakes of snow have started to fall not alot, not enough to settle, but it looks like its going to be a long cold winter, time to get hot water bottle at the ready and plenty of hot chocolate

That is a lovely story Isabel, thank you. I learn something nearly every day, I didn't realise that the Pennines stretched so far, I lived near Manchester at the other end of them for 32 years.----Hopefully, there's no connection between you having roast lamb for dinner and missing sheep------lol------Fletch
