My Favorite Purple Cottage Garden.
Wish it were mine.
MY FAVORITE FOOD
Salt Lick barbecue, walleye pike in beer batter in knotty pine paneled cafe in Minnesota in August, chocolate, vegetables and fruit of almost any kind especially raspberries and peaches, wild rice, eggplant parmesan, fruit with yogurt, granola and walnuts, Wisconsin cheese curds, pecan crusted chicken breasts, Blue Bell ice cream - mint with chocolate chip, morning glory muffins, raspberry chipotle sauce over goat cheese on sesame seed bagel crisp, green jello with cottage cheese and pecans. I only wish that we didn't grow old, that the world was a more peaceful place, and that I could get rhubarb pie locally.
And I love garden tours, especially my friend, Tom's garden, food for the soul... www.SoulOfTheGarden.com
Barack Obama offers a fresh start
and healing to a wounded nation
and its fractured alliances in the world.
Let’s move forward to this better tomorrow.
"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer. The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you: We as a people will get there."
"It’s been a long time coming. But tonight, because of what we did on this date, in this election, change has come to America." - BARACK OBAMA
ABOUT ME
I'm an Austin Granny of some geekiness and have my own web site www.AustinGranny.com I am retired after years in the medical business. We moved to become grandparents here in Austin, Texas. My younger husband still goes off to work every day. When we don't have the eight-year-old grand girl over, we enjoy getting together with close and dear friends, gardening and keeping up with politics. I attend U.T. Quest, a lifelong learning program, twice a week for lectures and seminars on a wide range of topics from art to archeology, music to the middle east, leadership to literature, energy to economics.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE
Endless war, Bush & Co. — including a fragile economy, a battered middle class, an increasingly unequal society and a grinding, unnecessary war that has exacted a huge toll in lives, money, civil liberties and America’s reputation abroad. Also: belief systems, dogma, sermons, ignorance, prejudice, manifest destiny, exceptionalism, ringtones, underwires, rutebagas, miracle fabrics, instant messaging, life support, experts, forms, ethanol, colonoscopies, sushi, genealogy or other yesteryeariness, cold weather, sports scores, anchovies, telemarketers, durable power of anything, pageants, Fabreeze, running shoes, laboratories and vials, construction noise, mosquitoes, processes, policies and procedures, committee meetings, rules, and colon-blow bran muffins! LOL!
HOBBIES
U.T. Quest lifelong learning program, gardening, photography, waterobics, reading poetry, politics, and nunsense, especially on a computer!
