I enjoy really good movies. Action, Romance, and classic movies are great. Really not into slasher, violent, and degrading films.

Music is a much traveled passage way to treasured memories. I enjoy the golden oldies of the 50's and 60's; however, not exclusively. There are some wonderfully talented artist today ... in Pop, R&B, Jazz, Soft Rock, Country Western, and Classic music. And, of course, I still get moving when I hear the unmistakable sound of the Bee Gee's or the Temptations! At the same time, I truly enjoy the romantic music of Il Divo. Guess I am well diversified.

I love to read but rarely have the time to settle down into someone else's words. Right now my life is on "full speed." I have to make myself slow down and take deep breaths. Perhaps I will take a respite during the summer. Well, it could happen! ha ha

Now I am an avid collector of cookbooks and often find myself searching for something new and wonderful! Ummm ... the aroma of something good cooking in the kitchen.

I am drawn to slate green, purples, and beautiful earthy browns. Living in a forested part of Texas, where lush shrubs and flowers abound, it is only natural to bring the colors of the outdoors into the living areas of the home.

I love all types of food. Living in Texas, of course, it must be Mexican Food that takes top honors. Seafood is right up there too!

I am happily married to my husband of 27 years. Finally found someone who can relate to my impulsive side. Such a good man! I took early retirement in 1998 after having been diagnosed with breast cancer in '97. (Sept will be my 11th year as a survivor ... "Thank you, Jesus!"

Because I knew my life had been spared for a reson, I prayed to learn what God had in mind for the remainder of my earthly life. Well, I heard Him loud and clear when I learned about STEPHEN MINISTRY. This has been the most blessed undertaking of my life! I have been an active "Stephen Leader" for eight years now and anticipate continuing to lead the Stephen Ministry (at my church) as long as I have my health.

As I mentioned in "Hobbies" I am a freelance writer. I put it there because I never anticipate making a fortune from my writing but it is a passion of mine.

I have two daughters, one step-daughter, one stepson, three granddaughters (one biological). They are all so special to me and I love them dearly.

I enjoy being with friends and family. My husband and I recently shared a long weekend with two other married couples that have been our close friends for years. We met at the wonderful Arkansas Lodge on Lake DeGray. Such fun getting together to play golf, hike, swim, and catch up on each others news. We talked and laughed so much we couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces for a week. ;)

I really dislike people who are inconsiderate of others and those who are just plain lazy.

My biggest peave is when people take a shopping cart out to the parking lot of a store and just LEAVE IT. What's worse is that the cart return can be right beside their vehicle. I call that "Inconsiderate."

My solution is to charge 50 cents for a cart rental and receive the fee back when the cart is properly returned. If a person doesn't want to get the fee back, I am sure there would be some enterprising young person who would be glad to collect carts and fees! (Off my soapbox now)

I am a freelance writer. Usually write for various Christian publications but am currently working on a novel. You never know.

I am interested in history. Not so much the academic perspective, but history of the individuals of the past. I am consumed by my geneology research and believe we surely must all be related somewhere down the line.

The stories I have come across are fantastic! There are many humorous accounts of incidents and then there are the stories that touch my heart and draw me close, in empathy, so much that I feel a real connection to certain ancestors. I just love discovering new family ties. Guess it is a treasure hunt in time.
